This is one of the most photographed pieces of rock on the planet! It is really spectacular and the setting is such that the images differ according to the position of the sun and your own location. Make sure you walk about to see the numerous other pieces of wind-shaped rock nearby! The area is unique for these curiously shaped natural sculptures. Bring warm clothes during the dry season as the glaring sunshine does NOT compensate for the altitude and sometimes howling winds!
Its a big tree shaped rock. Try to get there early to avoid the crowds. This is all dependant on your guide but.
Além da famosa pedra esculpida pelo vento por milhares de anos até conquistar o formato característico de uma planta, a região abriga outras formações incríveis. O lugar é lindo, perfeito para bater fotos. Havia um banheiro no local, mas estava interditado quando fomos.
OK, not a usual one. Definitely unusaula. And some nice places to climb around. But not more and not less...
This is actually in a large area of rock formations. In a large open expanse, it looks like these rocks were just dropped there. Arbol de Piedra is a little more artistic looking than many of the others, and is sectioned off by itself. I preferred to walk around the whole area rather than fight the small crowd to get the perfect shot of this one formation.
É uma bonita pedra em formato de árvore que fica no meio do deserto, pode não parecer nada de demais, mas o cenário é incrível. Fica no caminho do salar.
There is so much more to see in this area than just the stone tree. If you can be bothered to walk 100 yards further into the rock formations you will be rewarded with more wind sculpted sights. Being early in the morning the place was deserted so I think we were lucky to see it without hordes of people clambering over them. Mind you, given where it is I doubt it gets overcrowded.
Part of our 3 day tour from Uyuni, this is a great place to take some incredible photos. The rock formations are really interesting. Nature blowing our minds again!
This stop is tons of fun if you aren't too afraid of heights! It was like being at a playground for adults! We climbed all over all the giant stones and had some great fun!
Situated in the Avaroa National Park, this attraction was part of a four day Jeep tour from Tupiza to Uyuni.I was surprised when we arrived here, as I thought the attraction was just a rock that looks like a tree. What I discovered is that there is a whole field of amazing rock formations to be explored. We had a lot of fun climbing over them and taking pictures. I could easily have spent a few more hours at this site… just one of so many amazing landscapes in this park… a must for your bucket list (see my photos below).
