This winery is a little undiscovered gem on the Beamsville bench. We love to come here for lunch, especially during the warm months. It has a great patio and very affordable, with food prepared with local, seasonal ingredients.
During our last tour of the Niagara wine country, we were looking for a place to eat close to a few of our favourite wineries. I asked one of the staff at Tawse winery if there was a place close by. To my delight she suggested Ridgepoint wines just up the road. The restaurant has a patio as well as a very comfortable dining area indoors. They have salads sandwiches soups and desserts. I chose veal Parmesan with a small salad. The salad was exquisite featuring fresh to the table ingredients from local farms. The sandwich took me back to Italy, the sauce was fresh and light, just as I remembered. My greatest surprise was the glass of wine I picked. I won't confess to how many times I've travelled in Niagara, my selection was the closest to a classic Chianti that I have found in Niagara: Ridgepoint Monticello Rosso 2009. It all came together for a perfect lunch.
Ridgepoint was a nice stop for the Ice Wine Festival. We enjoyed the wine food pairing. They offer good wines. There are many other wineries very close to Ridgepoibt, so check the wine trail map.
We stopped in here for lunch on a whim on our way to NOTL. What a great choice! A lovely interment winery with an exceptional White Cab! Extremely smooth with a lovely buttery finish. For lunch I ordered the specialty pizza, while my wife had the Inslata Misto, a lovely mix of greens, goat cheese, grapes and candied walnuts with Cab-Merlot vinaigrette. The pizza had a nice spicy Italian meat, read onions, baby portabella’s, and amazing mozzarella cheese. All this enjoyed looking over beautiful fields of grapes, sitting in the shade on their outdoor patio, enjoying a lovely summer breeze. Service was defintaly on the slow side, but I believe that was due to an equipment problem they were having in the kitchen, which prevented them from being able to serve the Calamari appetizers I had wanted. However, after finishing the pizza, I realized it would have been too much food.
Just returned from a visit to two wineries in Vineland on for the Niagara Ice Wine tours. Ridge point Winery was far the better of the two with our Extreemly Knowledgeable Hostess Laura. She did a wonderful presentation of wine, ice wine and snack foods to compliment them. Very nicely done. We bought several bottles of their wine.
We enjoyed a fantastic wine tasting at this boutique winery while we waited for our food. The pizza was perfect and my husbands pork stew very flavoursome. We don't usually enjoy a Rose wine but ended up buying their Rosso, which was delicious.
Just left Megalomaniacs but happened on to this winery. Not as nice of a view but very informed staff and better value for your money than the other winery. There is also a place to have something to eat although we did not stop in to dine.
My husband and I stopped here for lunch during a visit to the area's wineries. The women in the winery/restaurant are passionate and engaging. We were very pleased with the quality of foods we ordered. Once we placed our order, we were directed to the tasting area to sample wines that would compliment our food choices. From there we returned to the restaurant area to order our wine of choice. We both ordered the Pinot Noir eserve. I started with the salad of baby greens with candied walnuts and goat cheese with a drizzled Cab. Merlot dressing. My husband opted for the crab spring rolls (a little disappointing, as there were only 2 - crab was not chunks, but rather minced.....canned?). We shared the Pizza featured that day - a chicken pizza with carmelized onions - DELICIOUS! The restaurant is only open from 12 to 4 daily, definitely a lunch stop.....A lunch stop not to be missed.
We went to a wine festival on June 21 and had a blast. Sampled over 50 different wines and the Ridgepoint was the best. We ended up going to their winery in the morning to purchase some bottles of our favorite!
Ridgepoint Winery has a fantastic tasting guide who remembers us every time we visit. She is unfailingly friendly and enthusiastic about guiding our tasting and offering recipes and food pairings for whatever we select. Our favorite wine here is the Monticello, a lovely light red blend which pairs perfectly with brie and other cheeses. They have a great Merlot as well, and are justifiably proud of their Nebbiolo. One reason we love Canadian Ontario region wines is their lower alcohol content and fruit-forwardness; all the wines are good sippers on their own. Enjoy your time at Ridgepoint and all of the smaller regional wineries. Help them flourish!
