Freezing day, drizzled rain. The Pickled Sisters is a perfect little cafe run be very attentive and helpful staff. The food was first rate. Can't wait to go back and check out the winery.
Cofield Winery is a family run affair with some tasty, fresh white wines. It also produces some wonderful reds in the right year. To their credit, management are up front about their better and poorer years.
Adjacent to Pfeiffer so worth a visit if going there. Better than average table wines in the area and reasonable value.
Excellent wines - very friendly hospitality ... all you need! Also a very good place for lunch - either in restaurant, or in the Rotunda.
We visited Cofields on a recent stay in Corowa. We received a free tasting plate voucher, so thought we would take advantage of it. We started at the cellar door where the very knowledgable and helpful Andrew, led us through a wine tasting. He was happy to answer all our questions and organized our tasting plate (a sample of food with matching wines) which we ate/drank outside under the umbrellas. The wines provided were full glasses, but the food on the tasting plate although delicious was minimal, so we decided to order something else from the Cafe. Kev decided upon some bread, oil and dukkah from the Cafe, which was both delicious and great value for money. All in all a leisurely hour or so was spent here in lovely peaceful surroundings.
Cofield's has some great wines which aren't too expensive. I love their sparkling shiraz! Another major drawcard of Cofield's is the restaurant/cafe which provides some of the best food in the region including delicious desserts. On a nice day, Cofield's is a lovely place to sit and relax outside with a lovely lawn area where kids can have a play. There's even a giant chessboard and the staff even offer things for the kids to colour in with to keep them entertained.
We were greeted by the owner who was happy to tell us about the wines available before handing over to a lovely, knowledgeable lady. We were offered several different wines to try, accompanied by some local hors d'hoeuvres. A lovely, start to the day in a perfect setting
If you want a little tranquility and an ideal escape, this winery is everything and more .Great food and the service was amazing.
The cellar door staff were very friendly and knowledgable. The reds are fantastic and the stand out are the organic reds. We arrived late and the staff were still more than willing to let us try the range and have a friendly chat.
Thank you for your positive review we love hearing of a great experience at our family winery. We look forward to your next visit.Melanie Cofield
