No one seemed to know where this place was, and now I know why. Even our taxi driver had to phone a friend to find this location. When we finally arrived, the curator didn't even charge us admission because he said it wasn't fair to do so. There were some incredible specimens of huge trees, a giant cactus, and a few orchids, but overall the garden was in serious disrepair and not all the pathways were accessible. We enjoyed the quiet break from the bustling city, but this place has definitely seen better days.
These gardens impressed a group not usually known for botanical interests, such was the power and majesty of the immense trees and variety of plants, shrubs and flowers. A veritable walkable jungle that will delight all.
This place is lush. The grounds are filled with lots of flowers and plants. I really enjoyed the grounds but wanted to take flowers home with me. Lovely orchids!!!
I went here on a class field trip with my 1st graders. We had fun looking around the gardens. It is a very average garden. If you are expecting US quality this is not the place for you. It is a nice escape from the crazy city life and it has a super cheap entrance fee (2 q?). The tour was great until the very end in where they had baby fetus' in jars. This is not the type of thing you want 1st graders seeing! :S
