Beautiful manicured gardens right in front of the hotel.
It is a very nice and interesting park, in the middle of the city and with this variety of trees. The best is to come in Christmas tu see the geant Nativity sculptures
Gratuito.
La Florida Park is located at Paseo de la Florida. This park is the largest in the city and is very close to the city center. It was built in 1820 and made larger in 1855. The style of the park is romantic, in the French style, with many trees (some more than a hundred years old) and flowers. There is a pond and waterfall. It occupies a space of 35,000 square meters. There is a music kiosk built in 1890 and around it are four statues of Visigoth kings (Theudio, Liuva, Ataúlfo, and Sigerico). The statues were made for the Palacio Real of Madrid, but Carlos III did not like them and they ended in this park in 1821. There are plaques describing the trees with their names. There are four small fountains with the figures of a boy and a fish, surrounded by flowers such as begonias. Other statues are those of Ignacio Aldecoa, Manuel Iradier, Eduardo Dato, and Wynston Marsalis, who were somehow related to the city. During Christmas, they put up a nativity scene with figures that are life-size. Of interest is that many of the trees in the park were bought at the Universal Exposition of Paris in 1855. At one end of the park there is a Japanese garden, known as the Secret Garden of Water.
