Part of the ride from Breckenridge to Avon (and beyond, if you wish) -- this is a great path. Walk it or ride it as far as suits your ability and desires! In summer, the flowers are wonderful!
While we stayed in Vail Village, we took full advantage of the Vail Path along Gore Creek. It connects several "communities" in and around Vail, making it easy to get to tons of hotels/condos, restaurants, bars, shops and attractions. We were on the path multiple times a day. Good for walking, running and biking - beautiful scenery!
Nice way to walk along Gore creek and through the side of the resort. We relaxed in couple areas. Local people were nice and helpful with information.
This is like a single lane road asphalt road that wanders loosely along the creek it is several miles long and gentle enough in grade that it is not a strain.
The recreation path is gorgeous, accessible for most, and well worth the walk. It meanders along a creek bed, in between the villages and the base of the mountain. The sights, sounds, and fresh mountain air is so worth it! I stayed in the valley for a wedding, and even though I have been to Vail many times I have never taken advantage of the recreation path - do so! It was the best way to see the villages, the fall colors, and get deep breaths of fresh air.
The Vail path travels along the river (stream) for a good portion. You can hike from West Vail into Lionshead or Vail proper and all the way to east vail. Plenty of places to stop and watch folks fishing, or to throw a few rocks into the river (not near the fisherman). Beautiful scenery and you can see some of the great houses of Vail.
We rented bikes in Vail and rode this path. It was so scenic, and had very many photo ops! We did about a 12 mile round trip ride. It takes you through some neighborhoods, by the golf course, over and by streams. We even saw some wildlife. This was great fun!
This was a very nice path that you can run on walk along. It is right along the river and can be seen from the Vail Cascade resort.
Every time we visit Vail, we make it a point to walk or bike at least part of this beautiful trail. It's a refreshing respite from every day's concerns. We've always found it safe, spotlessly clean, and surrounded by interesting architecture and sculpture, as well as amazing plantings. Very nice, Vail. Very nice, indeed!
The trail is well kept and meanders along the Gore River. There are many areas on the trail where you can get off the trail and sit by the River. It is a multiuse path and is well utilized.
