I liked this baroque interior with large amount of very beautiful stucco figures. These are real masterpieces.
One word: impressive! It is impressive both from the outside as well as from the inside. One cannot miss this church as it is at the centre of Vilnius. The statutes adorning the church are imposing. Inside the church there is a chapel dedicated to St Caspian and it is absolutely imposing. This church is a work of art! Near the church there is a bell tower - it is also a must and the view from the top of the bell tower is awesome.
Fantastic crystal chandelier representing the fisherman profession of the saint patrons. Like all old Wilno churches filled with Polish memorabilia. Touching.
Fantastic baroque architecture and styling inside. A still active church, the statues have survived wars and Soviet occupation and are still in great condition. Well worth a visit.
From the outside, this looks like just another old church. Be prepared for a jaw drop once inside. The incredible details in the wall and ceiling decoration makes this a place to visit when you have time to absorb all of the variety in each and nook and cranny. We were fortunate to have a knowledgeable guide who explained the history of the church and what the various carved figures represent. If you are fortunate enough to visit Vilnius, be sure to vista Sts. Peter and Paul's. Since this was part of a group tour package, I do not know if or what the entrance fee was. Some churches we visited had a donation jar rather than an entrance fee.
Beautiful churchOne of the most interesting church ever been too. My daughter loved the beautiful architecture stunning boat in isle. Lovely atmosphere
This was an amazing church to visit. But you really need a guide to understand everything that you see. Our guide made it very interesting and explained every Little part of the sculptures and painting. I really liked the church.
The facade can be misleading... We were also a bit disappointed but once you enter it is a jaw dropping experience..It is pristine white and lovely.. You feel like taking picture of each corner... And do not miss the glass chandelier.. This is near Gediminas Tower and walkable by adults...
When built in the 16th century this was far outside the city. So the church was protected by high walls against wild animals. The interior is unbelievable. Thousand of faces and figures in plaster - A short walk from the old city - now in a central part of the living Vilnius
The stucco ceilings are very impressive. The church is located quite far to the east of the city; an advise: take the Vilnius city tour bus. They have stop included allowing you 10-15 minutes to visit the church
