On our last day in Germany, we decided to stop by Wertheim Village, an outlet mall which is an hour's drive from Frankfurt, for a few hours of serious shopping before we headed for the airport. Wertheim Village has lots of branded shops which offer good discounts on a wide range of things. We had a fruitful time as there was something for everyone, and it was great to have all the shops we were interested in in one convenient location.
A very charming little traditional German village. Many old properties built in the local style. Several shops but plenty of places to eat and drink. Doesn't take long to walk through but exploring all the little side streets and alleys takes much longer.
I had high hopes for this outlet shopping experience, but while the village itself was very nicely set-up, the shopping itself was rather a let down. Not a great collection in stores, everything seemed rather old (more than one season) and worst of all while shopping outlet: No great bargains. Some prices were just about 20 euro's lower than regular retail.I see no reason to not go to a regular shop and pay that money getting more service and a good choice in sizes and closer to home...Maybe we were just unlucky; it seems most outlets we visited had great things in store the one time and were completely useless on another occasion. Also we may have been spoilt rotten shopping USA-outlets that always seem to have a good deal somewhere. We just didn't get the shopping-bug here...
We have visited the place taking the bus from Frankfurt Hauptbahnhoff for only 10euro/return trip. There are two journeys every day and the shopping village is open 6 days a week and some Sundays of the year (more information can be found on their website). In the village you can find nice prices for some well known brands, food and beverage options for some break during the shopping.Worth a visit.
I loved the town was busy enough during the day and quiet at night perfect place to have a holiday, Its situated near mountains, theres boat trips, by the river there is Beach bar during the summer, I just fell in love with the old cobbled streets and how beutiful Wertheim is. I will definitly coming back to Wertheim soon
Nice little village with lots of shops and restaurants. Good ice cream shops all around with wonderful goodies. Great outdoor seating everywhere. Hey guys, sit back, have a beer, and let the ladies shop!
Wertheim Village outlet is part of Chic Outlet chain. The shops there offer deep discounts. They are said to have free wifi, but we had problems staying connected. Good for a few hours of shopping.
It is a good place for shopping. Many brands outlets, some of them with really discount prices, the others no difference worth the visit. after all it is nice to go there but you have to check if it is open or not.
Frankfurt is basically a city and shopping seems like the natural activity to include while we are there. We took a bus from Frankfurt main station and waited near the bus stop next to Burger king. The return journey costs 10 euro. They run 2 trips to/fro the village; 9.30am and 1.30pm from main station and 3.30pm and 7.30pm from the village. The journey takes 1 hour. Thus, the logic shopper will depart at 9.30am and leave the village at 7.30pm. The village is big and has many shops to offer. There is free wifi available in the full premises. Thus, it is good that you can share messages with the family/friends if you need to buy items for them. Maybe I was lucky, I was there in July and the whole Europe seems to be having sale. The sales at the village is even better. Managed to grab bags of shoes, bags and clothes. You can get your Lindt's chocolate at the village at a discounted rate as well. After shopping, I had my dinner at the village before taking the coach that departs at 7.30pm from the village. If you are a shopping person, don't miss out the bargains that this place has got to offer.
I think there's a reason to go there is to buy for example watch with a really good discount. Can't say that I was impressed by the stores quantity or the choice of brands. In my opinion, its still expensive there so maybe it is worth to visit Wertheim village in the sales period when even outlet prices go down.
