Most visitors come to Long Bay by sailboat, staying at the Long Bay Marina. While there, go up to the nearby mountain for the overlook view of the bay.
We gave been to VG several times and this has to be the best, most secluded beach for snorkeling! It's out if the way off a dirt road, no sign, etc. out of all the times we've been there, we either had it to ourselves or there was just a couple people there! Pure paradise!
Beautiful white beach on Long Bay Resort! Very nice people with shops and Rentals supplies. Quite beach with wonderful sites and gorgeous emeral green waters!
This is a nice beach that is a little hard to find. You need to take the last turn off before Hog Heaven. You go down a dirt road that isnt paved or leveled...full of ruts and rocks. At the bottom of the road make a right and there you are. There is parking for a few vehicles and you are just steps from the beach. The snorkeling here is great with lots to see in both deep and shallow water.
Not a soul on this beach other than us. We had lunch up at the sugarcane restaurant and then drove down here to snorkel. The sand is rocky and not the best, but the water was warm and clear and we saw tons of fish--even two turtles! Great photos here.
Long Bay is a lovely beach. If you walk to the far end from the car park there is some great snorkelling on the edges of the reef. Seeing a small shoal of cuttlefish made our holiday, but LOTs of fish and the coral is mostly good here unlike other areas of reef where it is dying away. We did not have the beach to ourselves as there were a few boats moored here but still peaceful and beautiful. There are no facilities here, so come prepared.
This beach was hard to find. After circling back and forth along the coastal road, I eventually took a guess and drove down a sketchy gravel/dirt road. It was steep and rutted. At the bottom was a sandy parking spot and glorious Long Beach. The snorkeling to the left was impressive, with lots of coral and fish. Don't try snorkeling from the center, as the rocks there were shallow, sharp and urchinned. We shared the beach only with some kids of the goat variety.
We arrived by water. This is a beautiful out of the way beach. We spent three hours, mostly alone and I was able to spend 90 minutes snorkeling. The rocky area to the left as you face the water contains some interesting underwater features, boulders grottos and further from shore, nice coral. The reef fish are plentiful although I didn't see anything particularly exotic. Because the bottom is on the rocky side, the visibility underwater is excellent. I did not get a chance to explore the other end of the beach, which seems to have a lot of shallow coral so not as comfortable to snorkel.
Unbelievibly beautiful! Pristine. We had the whole beach tonourselves when we were there!
Not the nicest beach on the island but definitely vacant. The snorkeling there was exceptional. Watch out for the currents though, they can be strong
