A nice detour for our kids. They were getting a little tired of all the museums and history, so this park was in a great downtown location and allowed them to run around for a bit. As an added bonus the Vicksburg Riverfront Murals are across the street so we added that to our afternoon as well.
Beautiful artwork is displayed along the river front. Also there is a playground for children. We loved seeing it! Nice corner of the world for children!
This is a fantastic place for little kids to play. The park has a fantastic play structure. Bring the kids and the swim trucks on any warm day to play in the water. Another nice thing about the park is that it has CLEAN bathroom facilities!! There is also a lot of inspiring art for the children of Vicksburg. The art that you will see was created by kids in my graduating class when we were 8. For a little background about the murals and paintings, message me. As a Vicksburg native, I can answer most anything.
great little park with excellent playground equipment and some art. The music gave it a great atmosphere. There are also lots of christmas statues at this time of year which my kids loved.
What a fun park! Filled with walls to run around and hide behind decorated with children's art and dotted with columns topped with steamboat smokestack designs. Also included a fountain park and wooden structures for climbing on and swinging from. Wish we'd brought the grandchildren.
I traveled to Vicksburg for July 4th with my famlly and we drove around the river front checking out the downtown area. Really neat stuff; the city is working to improve downtown so be patient, it's worth taking a look see.
We purposefully planned our stop in Vicksburg because I saw this park. Hoped it would be a nice place for them to get some energy out from being in car all day, and cool off on the splash pad. Splash pad for whatever reason was not on. It was hot! I kept splashing the kids with water from the drinking fountain to cool them down. Other than that it is just a park-a nice park, but not a destination. If it were crowded I would be concerned that there is only a 2 chain fence separating the park from the road...if you have a little one that darts off that is an issue.
We really enjoyed strolling this park even though we did not have children or grandchildren with us. Very creative and interesting with music playing, great place to have a picnic.
My kids are tweens and teens now so we don't visit this park much anymore but we have for years. It is a great place to come and play when it is hot outside because of the splash pad with the water jets shooting up into the air. There is also 2 playgrounds close by.This is a good spot to bring a picnic, sit under one of the big shade trees and watch the kids play. It's a good way to kill a few hours during the summer when the kids are bored.
We stopped here while walking around downtown. There were many activities to keep my children busy...swings, slides, forts, etc. It was a chilly day and the splash pad was not on, but it looked like it would be fun. It was a perfect stop after looking at several museums! The downtown area was nicely laid out, and it was easy to find my way around.
