Great friendly staff. Well maintained municipal course. Nice layout, that you could make as easy or difficult as you like from a variety of tee locations. Nice pro shop stocked well with good selection of items to choose from.
If you didn't know the Sandridge Lakes and Sandridge Dunes courses were municipal golf courses, you'd think they were country club courses. From course design to the shape the courses are kept in to the friendliness of the entire staff, this is fun golf. And a few of the holes are among the finest I've played and I've played extensively in Scotland. The 18 on the Lakes course is not only one of the most aesthetically beautiful holes, it's beautifully designed. The 14th over the water to an "island" green is another beauty. I would have given this golf course a perfect 5 but, in the summer, it's so crowded there's a delay even up to the 18th tee. A "golf sheriff" on each course would go a long way in speeding things up. Also, the food is not very good at all so bring your own snack.
Sandridge is a very busy course we have to call early in the morning for a tee time. The staff in the pro shop is very friendly and efficient. Most of the starters are also very nice. Have played both courses I prefer the Lakes course because the island greens on 14 and 17 are a challenge to me since I'm just a fair golfer. Both courses are in good condition. Pace of play is generally rather slow which is to be expected since it's so busy.
Had a great round of golf on the Dunes course. Great condition and no waiting. I'm not a big fan of gas golf carts but that was a small thing. An enjoyable time on the links.
Who would believe that a county golf course would be so special? This Indian River County facility boasts two 18-hole championship layouts designed by Ron Garl. The twin 18 hole courses have a reputation as one of the finest public golf destinations in the entire state of Florida and for county rates and fees. The Dunes and The Lakes course....each has its special attractions and if you play there often you will have a hard time deciding which to play today. The 6th on the Dunes and the 14th on the Lakes will challenge you to hit accurately or leave some balls for the gators at those holes.Sandridge is one of the best kept secrets in Indian River County. I must say it's a very challenging course on either one of the two courses you decide to play but it's got all the beauty and design of many private courses.
Sandridge consists of 2 courses, the Lakes and the Dunes. Both are different; both are moderately difficult. Very pretty setting, both completely surrounded by woods. Plenty of water (have extra balls). Greens are excellent and fast, Courses very well maintained.A pleasure to play.
This course was recommended by family and friends who live in the area. It more than lives up to the hype. If your golf game is off you can always just enjoy the wildlife that surrounds you instead. Either way you can't beat this course for the money. Our rate was $50 for 18 holes on a busy Saturday but I would have expected something more in the area of $75. Just do it.
Played in a tournament Oct.18-19 on Dunes course the greens were stimping @ 11. And they were receptive to golf shots. Fairways in great shape. Their are some GUR area that ar well marked and healing. They install irrigation.
This is a cut above your average public course. Very well groomed, an excellent layout with some truly challenging holes from the back tees. If you are an average golfer that generally shoots around 90, playing from the club tees will assure you a fun time at a fair price.
