Be careful if you visit it in November, as the park is half closed for works. The view on the waterfalls and the paths are an hiking paradise, can be reached from the bottom too, but you need to be expert climbers. Be careful, as on the weekends there are too many kids screaming and yelling! It's a must-see in the region.
We have spent half day in this enjoyable park. The place is well maintained and the entrance fees are reasonable.suggested for nature lovers. The visitor can choose several lenghts of tracks. Many waterfalls, everything is green and the view is amazing.Near the entrance is a small cafe and I suggest to take with you a bottle of water. Not recommended for dissabled persons. The parking is about 20 min walk up-hill.A nice attraction in the area.
We've spent a good 2-3 hours in this park enjoying the partially breathtaking views of various waterfalls/cascades. Just be aware that the walk to the park entrance is about 15 minutes downhill from the village/parking lot.
The waterfalls are great. You can take different routes withing the park and can stay there between 30 minutes to half day (like wee did...).Kids will enjoy as well :)
Be prepared for quite a long and very steep hike down to the start of the trail around the waterfalls but very well worth it. A beautiful setting and cool on what was a very hot day. Stop at the little shop selling local wine, olive oil and preserves all sourced from the area on your way out of the village.
The Parco delle Cascate is pretty easy to reach by road from Verona. HEading on up into the hills, the final few kilometres climb gives you a good impression of the landscape and how these waterfalls were formed. The park was completed in the early seventies and doesn't seems to have changed much since then: An uncomplicated layout gives you three choices of walking route (green, red or black). As others have observed, the most difficult part of your trip may be the path to the park from the town! We arrived after a rainy morning and found the unfinished stone slabs pretty slippery, as were parts of the red route that we took. That said, this is a very peaceful way to spend an afternoon's walk. The falls are all quite pretty, the paths well-signed. There's a bar and picnic area at the entrance, with a few spots to stop on the way round. Bring a small picnic and take advantage. And bring good shoes, too: light hiking boots would be best and sandals / flip-flops just won't cut it.A zip-line and swing-out seat have been fixed at a couple of the falls, though these are pretty lightweight and probably not worth the time and effort. Enjoy watching a couple of kids have a go then move on.The entrance fee isn't too steep and parking was free (the ticket machine was broken - this may be fixed by the time you visit!).Would recommend the Parco dell Cascate for visitors to Verona or Lake Garda and will definitely be heading back.
Very nice walk with nice adventures on the way. I would recommend going there in general, but you should note that the parking in the village is prohibited, so you must park 5 mins away outside it. From the village to the park there is a 15 mins walk downhill, so a total of ~20 mins downhill walk from the car to the entrance of the park. This makes ~25-30 uphill walk to the cat on the way back. So you should add this time and effort to your considerations when deciding if and when to come.
Belle le cascate molto suggestive, luogo tranquillo dove si può fare pic-nic in una giornata calda si sta anche bene in mezzo all ombra degli alberi. Da vedere il museo privato degli uccelli ubicato nel bar sul piazzale vicino al parco.
To escape from the world this is a place to visit for quiet and beautiful smells. Look for the fountains with the large fish and terrapins basking in the sun
Even coming from Canada and used to Niagara, we loved the waterfalls and how well the park was kept. Take 4 hours and some energy to visit it, it's a romantic place in the woods around Verona.
