The city of Wichita has done a wonderful job improving this area around the beautiful Keeper of the Plains sculpture. It has been raised to a majestic height, and there are interesting displays around the base with information about the Indians who lived in this area. Great areas to enjoy a walk along the river.
My family loves this place! We go weekly. It's a great walk and you must see the Keeper at night with the fire!
We walked from the Keeper of the Plains - over the bridge and towards the Troll. Lovely hot summers day - people walking, jogging and just relaxing in their lunch break. On the way back we watched the Herons wading. Nice pitstop on the road trip.
I was in Wichita for a conference at the Hyatt. The riverfront is spectacular: so inviting, clean and very scenic. The 2 mile loop from the Hyatt to the Keeper of the Plains walking bridge is outstanding - loved it!
A long concreted track along the side of the river all the way through town, down to the South. Great asset to the city
I enjoyed walking the path around the Keeper of the Plains in Wichita. It was a nice spring day with birds chirping and flying. Very nice scenery and enjoyed the Keeper of the Plains Sculpture. This is a free attraction meant to be enjoyed by all. I'm glad I had some time to relax here.
Well maintained and usually lovely place to stroll. Much prettier when the water is abundant of course. Some nice places along the walk to take photographs, too.
Not far from the Troll, you will find the Veterans' Memorial. It is a beautifully presented remembrance of those who stood for us. A truly special place.
Great view of downtown from the river and a nice park area. Make sure to go back at night when they light the ring of fire.
You can stroll, jog, or power walk, the choice is yours. Museums, parks are located along the way. Plenty of places to sit and enjoy the scenery. Very safe and families with their dogs come out in the evening.
