My husband and I were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary with a trip to Weston. Our first stop was the Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum. After we left there, we drove just a short distance to Lambert's. There are signs, so it's easy to find. The owners are very friendly. The wine is excellent and the prices are very reasonable. As soon as you walk in, there is a real fireplace with rocking chairs so you can sit by the fire and drink wine and just relax. There is also a patio with a beautiful view of a waterfall. I highly recommend this place is you like wine and a relaxed atmosphere.
I went there with friends and was really hungry and don't care for wine or any alcohol. It is a beautiful place!! The wine is very unique and even good tasting!! They let you taste the wine. They had karaoke that evening and the music was nice. But I thought they had a menu and a few choices, but they have one personal size coal fired pizza. Cheese plates and small salads. If you love wine more than food then this is the place to go!!
I visited Lambert's vintage wines, just because we share the same last name, and had an experience I hope to try again. These folks were most welcoming and had the cutest little shop with their wines and home made pottery. I got a tour of the winery and took some pics of the place. It is incredibly friendly and worth the time to stop and tour.
While staying at Stonewall Resort, we took a little road trip to Lambert's Winery. It is a small winery, made of hand-cut stone, situated a bit off the beaten path. Approximately a 20 minutes drive from Stonewall Resort. A very personable man gave us a tour of the winery along with wine tasting.
My wife and I toured the winery with the owners' son, JB. The tour was a lot of fun and very informative; the tastings were excellent. All the while they were planning a wedding to be held on the site the same afternoon. Many of the employees were at the WV Wine and Jazz fest outside of Morgantown, but the owners just roll with it.
My husband and I stopped on our way Home from our 1st wedding anniversary weekend at stonewall resort. The owner Mrs. Lambert was amazing. She was friendly, energetic, amd extremely genuine. My husband and I enjoyed all of the wines we tasted. We had great conversations and enjoyed the tour. Being a Sous Chef with a beverage degree, I was extremely impressed with the flavors of the wines and the facilities. My husband and I can't wait to come back to WV so that we can revisit this hidden gem.
Stumbled upon this great place while staying at Stonewall resort. Tucked back in the hills of Weston is this wonderful winery. When first trying to find it we felt as though we were driving into the middle of nowhere..then there it was. Wednesday evenings they have a brick oven pizza night. You know when the locals are filling the place up it's good. There had to be 150+ people juat enjoying the wine,, pizza and music. For $15 you can get a bottle of Wine of your choice, and a 9 inch brick pizza (which was a little small but tasty). Also try the winearitas (Frozen wine slushy). Very nice people, good wine, and a nice place to visit.
My friend had her wedding at Lambert's, the atmosphere is amazing, and the wine is phenomenal. (My favorites are the Blackberry & American Niagra). The people working there are so kind and so pleasant to be around. I would suggest this place to anyone visiting the area.
We happen upon the winery from the road signs. So glad we had time to visit. Owner was so nice. Free! wine tasting and a quick tour of the facility. Beautiful antiques used for displays and pottery to purchase. Grounds are awesome, small but very nice. The Blackberry Merlot was a surprise. We left with a case of wine. Had just finished a late lunch. If not for that, I know we would have enjoy the Wed night event. Pepperoni pizza [they have their own pizza wood oven], a bottle of wine, $15. Wish we lived closer. It would definitively be on our to do list.
If you wish to while away anafternoon in pleasure, stop by Lambert's Winery. Sample the variety of wines, choose one, and then make yourself comfortable in the rocking chairs or on one of the benches and let a wonderful afternoon wash over you. Peace and contentment reign! Converse if you wish, there is always someone interesting to visit with. And if you are lucky, you MAY be invited to take a tour of the winery. They offer a venue for weddings and or receptions, banquets - either on the patio or in the new banquet hall. The stone buildings and the landscaping are conducive to a lovely visit and grat venue. I visit frequently and send my guests there.
