Getting so close to so many deer is awesome. My son, age 11,and my niece age 15 thoroughly enjoyed it. This is a great place for all ages.
The deer park has not changed a bit since I was young. It still has friendly deer that come up and feed from your hand. Price is not too bad to get in, but only expect about 60-90 minutes of time in the park. Very good for little ones, but be careful of ticks/bugs that can congregate on some of the handrails. This place still feels like the old Dells, which is a good thing.
So cool to be up close and personal with the deer. The kids were in awe of being able to pet and feed the deer.
What a great way to get up close and personal with wildlife !!! Went two times on the same trip...will never miss going whenever I'm in the Dells !!!
I LOVE THE DEER PARK. I had such a lovely afternoon at the deer park. I had always wanted to go, but had been shooed away by "It's not worth it" comments from my family. This is the most bang for your buck (no pun intended) attraction in the dells. It is a must see for animal lovers!
the deer are beautiful and friendly, the kids can feed them. There are other animals there, too. It is a family friendly activity.
If you are a nature lover, this is a place you must visit. you do have to make sure you visit at the right time, and under correct circumstances.
Please don`t take this the wrong way BUT.............. The "DELLS" are NOT for everyone. It`s a wonderful 5 star place for families with young children up to High School Kids. Go-Karts, Water Parks, Museums (Small),Arcades, Roller coasters ETC. I have to say it twice, Water Parks! SoM many Great Water Parks If thats your thing. Much more but thats for another review. The Deer Park is an amazing, fun and Beautiful thing to do. You walk into the building to get into the park and there is a LARGE Gift Shop with ALOT of Deer Park Gifts but also alot of other Dells stuff if you are buying for friends or family. In My Opinion..... the most important thing to buy in there besides a ticket into the Park is the Food to feed the Deer. Its not too expensive and well worth it. I am not sure how large it is but it`s a good size Park with lots of trees and different types of land for the Deer to run, play and sleep. I think they did a wonderful job thinking about the Deer and the Tourists. You start to walk on the path and you see a Deer here and there along with a few other animals including Buffalo which are very cool but you can not pet them :)You got through another gate and enter a place in the park that has what may be HUNDREDS of Beautiful deer. Some just had babies and are laying in the shade taking care of them. Some are running around with their "Friends" and those things are absolutely Gorgerous!!! You feel like you are in a forest. Then all of a sudden Deer start walking up to you, REALLY. They either see or smell the food or they know you have it :) It`s likie a Pack of crackers. Anyhow...... They take it right from your hands (even little kids) they let you pet them, Take pictures with them etc. We went a couple times when we were there and i have to be very honest here.... Even though the Dells is a Full town made up of attractions, Boat rides Etc, This by far is the BEST for both Adults and Kids. To be honest, when we first drove by it i really thought it would be a waste of time and one of those places that you would be lucky to get next to a Deer much less Feed and Pet LARGE Deer!!! It certainly is not like a Childs petting zoo! These deer range from Just born Babies, to young but medium sized Deer to Very LARGE deer. They are so friendly and really seem to like being pet ALMOST as much as the Treats/Food.All that said.......... I LOVED the way they kept, Took care of and the forrest area they had to live in. It`s truly a wonderful place and almost magical at certain times of year :) It`s an absolut MUST MUST see if you decide to take your family to the Dells. It`s also very easy to find (Right on the main drag!)One more thing, HAVE A BLAST :) You will never forget it but Just in case bring your camera!!!!!
We visit here every time we go to the Dells. It's fairly cheap to get in. Make sure you buy some of their crackers to feed to the animals. Some of the deer are a little more afraid of people. If you have children, I would suggest that you tell them not to run or yell by the deer. They will be more apt to come to you or stay by you when you aren't yelling or running. There are lots of deer here and many of them are friendly. Lots of fun for children.
So much fun. Worth the time and the admission. How cool is it hanging with deer? I even took a selfie with one!
