Sorry this is where I ate not qt the park. See my Ft. Vancouver rating for Grant's house. I had the Beet Risotto with cauliflower and shared a pumpkin cheesecake.
We have eaten here for lunch and dinner, but most recently have been going for Happy Hour. They have an interesting menu for which ever choice of dining you choose. Happy Hour is only available in the bar which has very limited seating.
My wife and I toured the old airfield and the surrounding military barracks--wonderful walking with many trees and lawns (parade fields). We then went to Grant House for drinks and snacks. The bar is well stocked with good service and good music on some evenings. We liked it so much we called friends at a downtown hotel to join us for dinner. The cuisine was very good. The service was helpful and amiable. Be sure to ask to see the old logs evident in a hallway--house is of 1859 vintage. Parking was easy and it is less than five minutes from the town center.
Part of Vancouver's Officer's Row. Quiet street with huge old maples. Interesting pictures and good food. Parking is across the street and there are steps up to the huge porch where you can dine in good weather.
We attended a private wedding reception at the Grant House, a circa 1800's house on historic Officer's Row in Vancouver. It's a beautiful example of architecture from the day and, as the name implies, was once he residence of General U.S. Grant during his tour of duty at the Vancouver Army Barracks. For a smallish crowd, the Grant House is a delightful venue. Plenty of space indoors and outdoors. And the food was delicious, served buffer style; also by service personnel wandering around with tasty morsels. For public use the Grant house serves dinner and has a cozy bar.
This is an upscale restaurant that mainly caters to couples, teens, and business people. It is one of the houses on Officer's Row. They serve a variety of foods here, and they are all expensive too! It is an elegant restaurant. I ate a steak dinner there one time, and I could cut the steak with a table knife it was so tender. They also have some drinks available at your request and as shown on the menu. I prefer to drink Coke myself. If you are able to pay the high cost for your meal, then you will never forget the food at this restaurant.
I just moved here and have always been a history buff and had a amazing time exploring this park. The barracks were so clean and groomed. It just rained that morning so everything was so clean and smelled fresh.. it was like going back in time. I would recommend anyone who loves history to at least drive the grounds if coming through town. Even if you live here its a must!!
Restaurant in historical home. Beautiful grounds! Our meal, from appetizer to dessert, was delicious! We sat outside in garden area...lovely!
One word... boring! So so food and service. Uninteresting Spaghetti Factory decor. Nice that there is so much history in the building and surrounding area, otherwise there isn't any there there.
Great food, great service plus a do it yourself tour of the house looking for the ghosts! We didn't find any.
