Beautiful gardens, even in winter. We decided to visit as we were looking for a nice walk and learnt that the place was open to the public for free until the end of February. What a great thing to keep them open in winter as after visiting once we will certainly go back there again in the summer! The views were stunning and the gardens made it for a very pleasant and relaxing walk. We would definitely recommend it!Nice cup of coffee and a slice for cake made the afternoon complete.
Great visit, landscape is beautiful, would recommend wellies as it could be muddy depending on the weather...Nice café where you can enjoy the view of the gardens.Take the opportunity to visit Virginia Water you can access it from there, it is 10 min walk only and worth a visit.
the gardens here always have something to look at but in May. It is amazing with the azaleas in full bloom, simply spectacular. Also added to this, the restaurant is fantastic, with a great choice of cakes and beverages. The gardeners tea in particular is my favourite. The gardens are also open free during January and February, bargain!
This is so nice to walk around watching nature takes it course season by season changes. Today spotted snow drops crocuses and the first buds of the rhodendremons !I still find the restaurant pricy and I dislike my drinks in horrid paper cups !!!
Kids will love the space and can explore, while y7ou can smell the roses , or explore the herb garden or whatever your favourite plant is. Close to Virginia Water and its grounds. Good restaurant here and a superb pub very close too.Place can get muddy in places after the rains so beware.
was a lovely walk around the gardens the gardeners here are very well knwledged. will go back in the summer for another look
we called here yesterday on the way home as it was a sunny day.It is free entry to the garden during Dec, Jan and Feb but you will need to pay to park you car if you visit at the weekends. There is a nice café and shop and I would recommend a visit if you live in the area especially while its free. Obviously there is not much in flower at the moment but it is a nice 60-90 minute walk around the garden. Also you can walk further in Windsor park if you want to we last visited in May and the flowers and shrubs then are super.
Savill Garden beautiful all year round. I visited only a few days ago - February - and the Winter Garden is a splendid splash of colours that one really doesn't expect. It's an easy accessible garden in terms of being able to walk and see it all in comfort - set out in sections - to celebrate the seasons it is a very interesting and unusual place to visit. The Main building which houses the Reception, Shop, Cafe etc. is well laid out, excellent restaurant and coffee bar. Car Park and Coach Park are very close to the entrance. Anyone visiting the Windsor Area - and especially in June when the Magna Carta Celebrations are scheduled - should include Savill Garden in their itinerary (it is about 10 mins drive from Runnymede),
A great place to visit almost any time of the year! lovely gardens, nice cafe, lot of parking space, good pubs nearby, kids friendly -what not to love!
Fantastic café and shop for those who are not inclined towards gardens, good exhibition about the history of the garden. Interesting floral/shrub/leaves changes through the seasons, lovely ponds and sometimes sculpture exhibitions. The building architecture is out of this world.
