Thank you for coming to visit and we hope you will return.
From the outside it didn't seem to be as large as it actually is. It has a bowling alley and swimming pool and a bar and so much more. Everything has been preserved. Go enjoy the history of Reynolda house. it's and unforgettable tour.
Thank you so much for taking time to share how much you enjoyed your visit. We are so glad to know you enjoyed our new gallery space that opened in 2005. It is always wonderful to hear positive feedback about our informed and caring staff.
This attraction was a wonderful opportunity to walk through and appreciate a clever architectural gem carefully preserved. It represents a time gone by that only the very well off were able to enjoy. The thoughtfulness in the design of the home and the great collection of clothes and toys from the era give visitors a real sense of the time period. And the collection of American artwork is well worth seeing. There is so much to see we found ourselves going through the house once to enjoy the home itself and the stories that go with it (thanks to a free recorded tour for each individual), and then walking through a second time to focus on the artwork (agin assisted by a recorded tour). Several shops and places to eat in the village added to a great experience. Well worth the trip.
We are so glad to know you enjoyed your visit and that you come frequently. "George Catlin’s American Buffalo" will open Friday, February 13 and hope to see you soon.
Thank you for taking time to share about your experience. We always strive to ensure visitors feel welcome and have an enjoyable experience. We hope if you are able to return in the future you will find the staff to be informative and friendly.
You will enjoy this beautiful home at your own pace with a self-guided tour but there are folks stationed throughout to give your additional information or to answer questions. The grounds are just as beautiful and the village is exciting to explore. Definitely worth a morning or afternoon while in Winston-Salem, NC!
nice restaurants, stores, gardens, and open space surrounding the museum. The museum it self has many great events and is well worth the trip.
This was our first stop celebrating our anniversary at 10am and there was nobody around which was perfect (by the way it was on a Wednesday). We had the entire museum to ourselves and was not rushed at all. The museum at the time had a Chair exhibit which was great and displayed chairs from the 1880's to modern day. After that we headed to the actual Reynolda house with an audio radio giving us excellent information on every piece of history the Reynolds family had. The art work that was displayed throughout the house were VERY impressive and breathtaking. Even the collection of clothing saved from all those years where preserved so well and a pleasure to look at. I would say if you live in Winston Salem or just passing by, go treat yourself to some art and culture!!
Thank you for such a thorough and wonderful account of your visit to the Museum. We hope you come back soon!
