There are 12rooms to visit all beautifully furnished and full of family photos, a really pleasant place to visit, especially if you don't want to visit a lot of museums!
It was such a privilege to be allowed to visit the Palazzo Viti. The family lives here and are so kind to share their family history with us. Unusual indian connection. A Joy to visit. Yes, I would go again.
It is not very commong to be able to visit inside palaces that are in medieval villages, so we are glad we had this opportunity. It was only Euro 5 each, and it is a small beautiful palace with many fine pieces of furniture and artefacts. The current owner lives in part of it and is there to give you history of his home. Volterra is a beautiful medieval village and this palace adds to the interest in visiting.
This palazzo was packed with amazing works of art (many oriental) and it was lovely to see the photographs and portraits of the family. Its a different side to Volterra that shouldnt be missed.
O dono do Palazzo é quem cuida do seu patrimônio e vende os ingressos para visitar este local maravilhoso, um prédio do período medieval, conservado com uma mobília mais atual, de uns 200 anos atrás.
Senior Viti himself sells tickets at the door he continues to live in a part of the palazzo. Finely furnished rooms, lots of history. very nice. About 45 minutes to go through. WHATEVER YOU DO...do not forget to go into the basement cantina and walk through the Roman cisterna. Thousands of years old.
Not mentioned in our guide book but turned out to be a real, hidden gem. Unlike the big palazzos of Florence, this is a lovely, small, town house with some fantastic rooms to view - and some great views of the surrounds.
What a gem! Beautiful rooms and friendly and helpful staff. From the outside who would think the inside could be so splendid? The wine tasting (a couple of glasses and some bites) was an added bonus - and all for only 5 euros! Brilliant - a must to visit.
As over the top this palace is there were wonderful personal touches of family pictures placed around the 12 rooms we visited. Amazingly the family still lives in there in another section of the palace!! A family member actually sells you a ticket, a sweet older Signora Viti, mother of 3 & grandmother of 7!!! Was taken with the stenciling that looked like wallpaper and with the story of ? Viti and his trips to the USA, his desire and drive.
Palazzo assolutamente da visitare. Direi intimo, a stretto contatto con la storia della famiglia Viti. La stanza della biblioteca è bellissima.
