A very nice small town zoo that brings the animal viewing close to the visitors. New additions are under construction which will make the zoo even better especially for the kids when the new petting zoo is completed.
first time we ever went was when the winter games were going on.they have a very cute in doors part. i loved all the stuffed animals inside and the birds. once we were done with that we went into the kids part where they have a little petting zoo. I love petting zoo's and I'm an adult =) . they had lots of cute little activities going on for the kids and everyone was very friendly. we went on the winter medallion hunt and that was a blast!! they had all of them hiding out and around the out part of the zoo. all the winter animals were out and we could get so up close to them. the eagles were beautiful!! to me its more like a wild life nature reserve then an actual zoo. My kids loved it and i Loved it and we will be getting a summer pass when it warms up a bit more. good times!!! Great zoo for such a small town.
I have been going to the Bramble Park Zoo since it consisted of a few monkeys, deer, pheasants and small animals where we parked beside the cages and would get out and feed them. It is totally incredible how the zoo has grown, improved and become such a wonderful attraction in Watertown. Every time we go, there is something new and different. Love it all but watching the bears sit on the seats and eat at the table is great fun.
We loved how we could get eye to eye clise with all the animals!!! Only bad thing we encountered were the bees!
The best zoo in South Dakota as it has attractions every member of your family will enjoy seeing! The staff are very knowledgeable, the zoo is clean and easy to walk!
Our first visit in 2010 was hampered by some rain, so we stopped in again. We are glad we stopped in as the zoo was filed with new live. There were young lemurs, monkeys, tigers, among many other younglings. All of the exhibits were thriving with wildlife and the flora. The zoo is well mapped out making it easy for guests to get around. There hasn’t been a lot of noticeable updates since out last visit but it looked like some were on the way. The zoo seems to be a little older, so you will find more small exhibits and less naturalistic exhibits. The Australian exhibit is the best quality naturalistic exhibit, but it too is a little aged and could do for a sponsor or two to fix it up. The gift shop could use some more banded products for tourists that are into those types of things, we’ve been there twice and still don’t have a magnet on our fridge from Bramble Park. This zoo makes for a great rest stop between Sioux Falls and Fargo or a great morning for a family to enjoy the natural world.
I use to take my kids here all the time but as they have gotten bigger they have lost interest and would much rather go to the one in Sioux Falls. I think this one is great for families with younger kids
My mother and I took my 3 kids and we all had a blast. There was so much to see! We enjoyed a show and fed the barn animals! I just wish I knew the white tiger had died 2 years ago. The website still has a picture of that tiger as the main page, a little deceiving.
This a great zoo! The different types of animals are great. This is a really clean, well-kept place. It is very accessible for all. It is educational and just a lot of fun! I love to go and relax and enjoy. Watertown should be very proud of this gem!
Bramble Zoo offers visitors a delightful experience in a smaller well-maintained space in the city. From exotic fish and birds to bison and reindeer, there are plenty of sights and sounds to explore and educate. It is a perfect place to spend for families and individuals to spend an afternoon.
