If you like the farming days , absolutely go here. Always have things going on. ( check their calender ). Plenty of room to roam around, farm animals, hay rides, green pastures all around.
The farm is a great place to visit with city kids. They can learn a great deal about animals and farms.
This is a great place to bring children however I did enjoy this place very much. This is the kind of place you think of when you think of vermont!
Leonardo, thanks for taking the time to write. Although we can't guarantee that all children who visit the farm are fascinated with farm animals, we've found that most enjoy the experience and become quite engaged – especially if they are getting close to large farm animals for the first time. It sounds like this was not the case for your young son or daughter! Unfortunately it was too cold for a sleigh ride; that usually brings a smile to everyone's face. If you return to Woodstock when your child is older (or in warmer weather), please contact us. We'd love to have you visit again as our guests.
Really enjoyed the Billings Farm tour. I knew nothing about the Woodstock, VT area and our tour guide was excellent and the farm and grounds tour worthwhile. If you enjoy learning history when in an area this is a must go to site.
We visited the Billings Farm and Museum and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We stayed at the Woodstock Inn and our stay allowed us free access to Billings. The horse drawn carriage ride was fun with the beautiful horses, Tom and Jerry pulling us. The wool blankets in the sleigh helped keep us warm on the very cold day. The farm animals were clean and well taken care of! We also did the house tour. Billings Farm and Museum did a great job... a couple demonstrations, but not long winded, thus keeping our interest. At the end we enjoyed complimentary hot cider and home made cookies. It was a bit humbling to be reminded of what people of that age had to go through.
Woodstock is quintessential Vermont! What a pretty little town with lots of things to see and do. We enjoyed touring the Billings Farm and Museum. It was a look back in time as well as seeing modern farming operations in Vermont. Lots of fun for kids with all of the animals but history buffs will like it too.
Had a complimentary horse drawn sleigh ride at the farm because we were staying at the Woodstock Inn. Blue skies, Tom and Jerry are beautiful horses...felt like I was living in a painting. Free hot apple cider and samples of presidential favorite cookies. We'll be back in the summer to explore more if the farm!
Billings Farm is great for kids with many activities and learning exhibits. Billings Farm also has exhibits for adults focusing on the history of the farm, milking the Jersey Cow and more. $12 admission and plan your visit based on their daily activity schedule.
House as well as barn on full view, and we found the guide to be knowledgeable and helpful. Be careful to dodge the poop in the barn.
