Attending the maple syrup tree tapping events at the Indian Creek Nature Center is a fun educational experience for the young at heart. The numerous trails throughout the center provide an excellent opportunity to view foligage and the creatures that roam the area. Bird watching in unique and offers one the chance to see various varieties in their natural habitat.

This is a great place for nature education. I know they have other things to do but I have been there for the Maple sap demenstation which was really cool and then there is a trail to walk and other activities, Check out their site.I visited two years ago. the date on this review section doesn't go past May 2013
The Nature Center is worth a day or at least half a day of exploration. The trails are great and you can also sign up for a variety of classes and events. We volunteer for the Maple Syrup Festival each March, Nature's Noel on the first Saturday of December and the plant sale in the spring. We meet interesting people each time. For kids, the outdoors is just there waiting for them to come and discover it!
Nice to visit and walk around. I donated buckets of various nuts for planting here. Received training in composting for Master Composting certificate here. A good time to visit is at Maple Syrup time, Mmmmmmm good.
Indian Creek Nature Center is a place of "ah" and "awe." With acres of forest and prairie and wetlands, and a very knowledgeable and personable staff, and great programming - it's a wonderful place for soaking up the natural world, only a short drive from downtown. Their new education center will be THE model of sustainability, showing their commitment to the environment and to education. We choose our memberships carefully, and this one is forever.
My son loves their camps too! Pretty location and great interpretation.
CR is lucky to have the Nature Center. It's serene, informative, and one of my favorite things in the county.
This is a hidden away spot near Cedar Rapids with lots of learning venue regarding nature. Especially enjoyed the glass beehive with the busy bees making honey! They even do an event when they harvest the honey.
This is one of my favorite places to walk and look at nature. I've come here for the maple Syrup celebrations, but nothing is better than quiet of the trails. It's close to home, and what a relief to get away and get some exercise while seeing some of the neatest birds and nature. Love the paths and bridges-great place to regroup.
