All you need is money! They have everything for snowmobiling, all the clothes and instruction. First time on a snowmobile and we will be back. So much fun getting into the back country where you feel like you are in fantasy land with all the deep undisturbed snow, just beautiful. Went to Meadow Creek Lodge for a very good lunch then 2 Top and down to West, just a wonderful, beautiful ride.
We always go and play the Two Too Loop when sledding in West Yellowstone. Conditions change rapidly up here in winter and you can find yourself in some pretty wicked weather. Went across here in bad conditions once and didn't care for that at all! The flip side of the bad weather is when the sun is shining and the snow is deep...no other place on earth makes me feel so alive! I may never see it with out snow pack and that is just fine by me! Enjoy
We owned a cabin in the area and spent many wonderful times with our family snowmobiling in the area. Two top is just the beginning though. There is great snowmobiling in all of the plateau area. Trails are regularly groomed, but the off road powder is the place to be. We are seriously spoiled for ANY other snowmobiling area!
We had a great, very friendly tour guide. They made special accomodations to try to make us comfortable. The gear rental is a great value and they can accomodate sizes up to 5x for men! Snowmobiling through Yellowstone is a must!
We've been to Two Top on five separate snowmobile trips, including our honeymoon 25 years ago, and just last week as a 25th anniversary trip. It NEVER ceases to amaze. The first two trips we had to dig out the sign at the top of the groomed trail so we could read it. The last three times there has been significantly less snow, but more than enough for a good ride. Made it to the top of the ungroomed trail again on this trip and the views were stunning, as always, with clear blue skies. (as was the wind and temperature difference!)
Provide all your equipment and snow suits. Take out the insurance! You don't want an accident and damage to ruin your trip. Stuff happens. Nice people. Especially Kennedy. We had so much fun! Rode for 3 days. Could not ride into West Yellowstone due to weather. They arranged a van tour for us which was great too.
Not far from West Yellowstone, this is an exciting place to sled! You can stay in a lodge in West Yellowstone, rent a snowmobile, and be at the top of this amazing maze of trails and back in just a half day of riding or less. If you own your own sleds, there are places to park and unload. A drive in the white snow, even if it is really cold, and it can get pretty low up there--sub zero F--is a must do if you are in the area.
We arrived on Two Tops on a sunny winter afternoon with our excellent snowmobile guide Tom from 3 Bear Lodge. So much to see... for example Grand Teton in the south, Yellowstone to the West, so much more and we were surrounded by a bunch of ghost trees, pines covered in snow. Really amazing!
Must see adventure, Top of the clouds, mountains miles of scenery. Cant wait to come back next year!
This was one of the best things my husband and i have done. There is nothing like Yellowstone in the Winter. If you are a newbie at snowmobiling dont let that discourage you, i was as well and by the end of the day i felt like a pro. The guide Jamie was very patient with me, after five mins or so he could tell i was going to move slower then the rest so he put me at the back of the group, it was the best decision ever, gave me plenty of time to get use to the snowmobile and not slow everyone down. If we come back to snowmobile again we will be going with Two top again.
