Very interesting about his life. Would highly recommend a visit if you are around this area. We found it by chance from leaflets at the hotel we were staying in.The views from here are just fantastic. Being British we now know about the Resolute Desk in the oval office there is a full size replica of that office there. Air Force One a Boeing 707 in it own hanger also with beautiful views from the large glass windows. The only down side is there is always lots of school tips so lots of kids but at least there are looking at their country's history
We came off a cruise that ended in Los Angeles. One thing we wanted to do was to visit the Ronald Reagan Library. We are so glad we did. The location is perfect with stunning views. We picked a good day to visit as it was not very crowded. Each exhibit was perfect. Some left me laughing, others left me awed and still others left me in tears. Then there was Air Force One. Goose bumps!! Wow!! Lastly, the final resting place of the America's greatest President in my lifetime. This visit was awe-inspiring. It left me proud of what America once was and wishing it was that way again. We wished we could have stayed longer than the three hours we allowed ourselves but we had places to be. We spent a few minutes in the gift shop where there is a good amount of reasonably priced items. I would suggest that you give yourself at least 4 hours and probably more to really get to enjoy the memorial of this great man and a small part of American history.
Air Force One tour very interesting. Beautiful view from the site. The Gippers life story told here.
It's so nice living nearby this Presidential Library and Museum. It is a great place to visit for business or pleasure.
Of all the Presidential libraries that I visited, this one provided the least amount of information concerning any of the mistakes or scandals in his administration. Hardly any mention of Iran Contra. Don't miss the small picture of Jane Wyman on the bottom of the first cabinet in the rooms displaying all the pictures and memorabilia. It is the only one you will see of his first wife. Nevertheless, it was great to tour Air Force One. You also learn a lot of personal information about President Reagan and how nice he was in his personal dealings with people.
Had a chance to visit the Reagan Library in Simi Valley and enjoyed every minute of it. I wasn't a big Reagan fan when he was elected in 1980 but by the time 1984 came around, I (and just about everyone else) was on board for good. Not only was this place a great testament to Ronald Reagan, but it is also a time capsule of the 70's and 80's. The exhibits were terrific and there was a lot to learn during my 3 hour visit. The Air Force One exhibit was spectacular and you actually get to walk through the plane! Also, seeing Reagan's burial site, which is on the grounds was quite moving. I highly recomment this place.
My sister, husband, 92-year-old WWII vet dad visited in September 2013. President Reagan was a true American. The museum's collection of memorabilia, clothing, photographs, and events is extensive. His Oval Office is complete and so is the Air Force One hangar!! People were swarming everywhere and there were many school groups, which was encouraging to see! A must-see for every American!!
I am a considerable student of conservatism and especially Reagan conservatism. I did not learn very much that I did not already know. However, I still enjoyed seeing the exhibits and walking through Air Force 1 and Marine 1. The best part of the visit was the gorgeous mountain scenery that surrounded the museum.
The views are tremendous, the exhibits are always changing and really informative, the docents are very helpful and the grave is moving. It is a very interesting and enjoyable day out.
