This is a pretty spot next to the art museum in City Park. If you're in City Park, don't miss it. It's a free attraction and has a lot of replicas of famous sculptures in a nicely landscaped area.
Lovely free section of City Park to explore. Small area next to NOMA with pathways and sculptures set amongst big trees and lakes. Sculptures are varied and impressive, including a huge metalwork spider and the classic New Orleans icon of the Blue Dog.
This was our second visit to the Sculpture Garden. It is quiet respite amidst the hubbub of NOLA with beautiful sculptures--one more inventive and striking than the next. Be sure to schedule at least an hour for this garden as there are more sculptures than you would imagine here and you will want to visit every single one. Enjoy!
The sculpture garden is amazing but then everything about City Park (where it is) is amazing. If you come to NOLA for the nightlife it's probably not for you but if you come for the culture don't skip City Park.
This garden is beautiful. It has a beautiful walking path. There are chairs with sculptured people sitting. There is a tranquil pond which is a part of the lagoon system. It's a wonderful place to take a small child. Several festival type activities are held there each year. There are stepping stones over one part of the pond. I attended the Japanese Festival at one time. They had drummers outside of the museum. (NOMA- New Orleans Museum of Art in City Park) In the park they had a couple of food vendor, origami and informational booths etc.., It was only about 10 booths. The sculptures themselves are phenomenal.
I've been to many parks with sculptures but this one was different. Nice and quiet. Interesting sculptures and pretty surroundings. Worth spending a bit of time.
We went walking around the Sculpture Garden and it was a nice walking path filled with interesting art objects. They have some descriptions on the objects but a bit more on the meaning of the pieces would have been helpfulOverall its a nice walking tour of art in the City and NOMA
Take a half hour and walk around this garden. It's well maintained and interesting. Some of the sculptures will make you smile, others leave you scratching your head.If you are NOMA, don't pass this by!
Took the street car to city park on a wet rainy day spent a few hours wandering in the sculpture garden. Free to do and absolutely great statues and sculptures..Karma was my favorite..Then had a coffee and beignet and Morning Call..A great way to spend the morning
This is an outstanding sculpture garden. Having been to several in cities around the world, this one stands out for both the variety and quality. This one is well laid out with easy to understand signage. Everyone seemed to be enjoying the sculptures and the day. Easy to get to from the Canal Street City Garden streetcar. Well worth the visit.
