Everyone in our group loved this experience even the ones who thought they may not! A modern and then a traditional performance. Very atmospheric. A stunning building, both inside and out and much to admire and absorb. Found the people of Siberia very welcoming.
The theatre is one of a kind with beautiful lighting effects and a master piece of architectural work.I love the arrangements of the seats on a slant incline. The "Swan Ballet" is a must watch for any one.
You expect, this theater will satisfy you. You can make a reservation at online site.
We saw Figaro in Novosibirsk during a trip on the Golden Eagle on the Trans-Siberian Railway. The theatre looked magical in the snow, and the performance was very well done. The auditorium is huge with comfortable seats and has a small bar for drinks and snacks during the interval. A rather surreal but enjoyable evening!
One of the must-visit places in Novosibirsk. The theatre is the biggest opera house in Russia built in 1945. The interior is awesome. Ballet performances will impress you greatly.
I have been in many many opera theaters in the world, but the Novosibirsk State Opera and Ballet Theatre is something special. It has a very special atmosphere of high culture, it almost lost elsewhere. There is little of bisness, but much of a soul.Voices for soloists are amazing, stage decorations are amazing and ballet dancers are from another world :-)It is almost unbelievable that in the midst of Siberia there are such miracle.I can recommend it strongly, that is certainly worth the visit!!
We were fortunate enough to be in Novosibirsk for a performance of the opera "Prince Igor." With a fabulous score, excellent orchestra, outstanding singing, beautiful costumes, exciting choreography, and a great setting this was a world class evening of entertainment.
We have visited this theater with cousin and her husband. Performance was good and place was impressive.
In mid June, I attended a concert featuring a celloist from Holland. The orchestra is of high professionally standard. If you have time, please do consider to spend a night there. The entire ground floor is for audience placing their overcoat, full capacity is around 2,500.
One of the biggest and well designed theaters in Russia. Great staff and very gifted ballet and opera soloists. We were impressed with Giselle Ballet. Nice decorations. Excellent performance by all involved. The theatre was almost full. Very good acoustics and views from parter. Highly recommended for anyone in love with traditional Russian ballet. Good value for money.
