If you can visit before a performance of the Cinci Pops or orchestra, often there are food trucks or special pre concert events. The park on its own, with the color changing fountain that attracts local kids like a magnet, a very interesting play area, nice dog park and big open area for festivals is a great place to spend a day. Luminocity is phenomenal if you can get a ticket.
Cincinnati is not short on great parks, but Washington Park is truly unique! With an interactive water park, a children's playground, a dog park, a performance stage, and the American Classical Music Walk of Fame... this is a place for the entire family to come again and again! Make it one of your Cincinnati "happy places".
We were in the area for Christmas Saengerfest, it's very nice, and the surrounding area has been turned into a great place to dine and meet with friends.
Park has been renovated, so beautifully done. the flowers were very pretty. different for each season. nice and peaceful.
This is a lovely park and it is surrounded by historic buildings, the largest and loveliest being Music Hall. On the weekends there are often special events and food trucks and great places to eat are available within just a couple of blocks in the historic Over the Rhine area. Parking is available under the park with easy access. The park is kept very, very clean and is very safe to visit. I like to park in the garage, take a walk through the park and then explore the restaurants and shops nearby. There is a small water feature that children will love and a small dog park if you want to bring your dog. Dogs are welcome in the park but please be sure to bring doggie litter bags to clean up after your dog.
Awesome outdoor concerts, great play ground and fountains for the kids, local food options, great views. One of my fave places in the city!
We walked through the park while waiting for a table at an area restaurant. It is a nice park OTR. However, I echo earlier sentiments that I wouldn't feel safe here after about 4:00 in the afternoon. There is a bar close by that was in full swing at 11:00 a.m.
It's pretty, but the area is really run down. There are a lot of homeless traversing the area, and they are pretty aggressive. I'm 6'5" and 215 lbs with a scary looking biker beard --- I still wouldn't go near this place after sunset.
What fun-we watched the opening day parade from Washington Park. They had food booth's and lot's of family activities. So good to see so many people enjoying the new Washington Park and keeping the area alive!
Dog park, fountains, festivals, easy parking and proximity to OTR make this a great place to go and chill.
