This tour was fantastic! It took about 2 hours and it felt like it flew by. We enjoyed learning about all the animals and even better, we were able to be so close to them. They only take groups of about 20 at a time and take you around the entire property. The animals looked happy and comfortable. Brie, our guide was very knowledgeable, friendly and you can tell she cared so much for every single animal there. We had such a great time. Definitely recommended for all age groups.
Our family visited the Sanctuary while vacationing in West Palm Beach. Our guide Kara was amazing and so passionate about her job! Two thumbs up!!
We took my granddaughter Kayla to this sanctuary and were very impressed by the selection of animals and the guide was extremely knowledgeableworth the trip and cost
The Big Cats, the tour, the information...It is a wonderful experience to see how well treated these rescued animals are. The grounds are clean and the location is very easy to get to.
McCarthy's Wildlife Sanctuary is a great destination for people of all ages while vacationing in Palm Beach. Manny provided a fun and interesting tour that made for a a great day. The animals were all well cared for and you get to see them UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL!
My husband and I were very impressed with the beautiful, well cared for animals and property. Our tour guide Brie did a phenomenal job of informing us of the history of how most of the animals ended up at the sanctuary and interesting facts about the species. My 5 year old daughter is an animal nut so she thought today was the best day ever. Well worth the time and a great family day out.
I would totally recommend McCarthy's Wildlife Sanctuary to anyone that comes to visit the WPB area. I've never been so close to wild animals like I have been at McCarthy's. The best part about the tour (appx. 2HRS) is that all the animals are rescues. They will go into further detail of that on the tour itself, but all the money raised is doubled by a bachelor grant. So you're helping to keep these animals alive by touring the Sanctuary.
the guided tour was excellent, our tour guide , Kara, was excellent at explaining about all of the animals and got the tigers to get up and play. out little guy had a ball
We visited with our community's nature club, and were so impressed with the facility and the care these animals get. Our guides were passionate & so knowledgeable, and their love for the animals, big & small shone through. The many big cats went beyond lions & tigers to include such exotics as a liger, white tigers and snow leopards. A wonderful part of the tour included some hands on with such animals as an African Grey Parrrot, and an adorable, furry kinkajous. Go visit and support them in their efforts to care for so many native and exotic species.
This is a sanctuary not a zoo. Animals here have been rescued from various serious situations and some of their stories are heartrending. Our guide consistently emphasized how carelessness, cruelty and ignorance results in injury, often of a permanent nature in helpless animals. Often the care provided here has resulted in the release of these animals back into the wild. This is a wonderful learning experience for all ages. The lions and tigers were magnificent but the birds --and their stories--were riveting. Our guide Brie was enthusiastic and very knowledgeable. The tour takes almost two hours with guests standing and walking most of the time. Visits by appointment only but are easily made by phone. Check on regulations for bringing children. Bring a bottle of water and a hat-those lizards and turtles need lots of sun.
