Very peaceful garden. Only the occasional plane from the airport interrupts your walk through this naturally beautiful landscape. For photographers interested in getting pictures of planes in flight here is an opportunity. There is a section of the garden where planes can be viewed and photographed without too much difficulty. There are a combination of shaded and open places with seating here and there. The garden is very well laid-out. You may even be inspired to incorporate some of the ideas in your own yard. There is a place at the entrance to leave a donation. Enjoy the pictures. chrisandersonimaging
This is a beautiful place near the airport. Consider filling those last hours prior to heading home with this comfortable place. Lots of interesting plants and at the beginning hangry Mosquitos (I donated a quart to their cause). Long pants would have solved a problem that was only at the beginning of the walk. Just beautiful.
This is one of the nicest botanical gardens that I've been to. The grounds are outstanding and you can see a lot of different flowers along with vegetables that are grown in the garden. I've been here twice and from what I understand during the week is the better time to visit, the weekends seem to get a little more crowded. Even though the airport is a half mile away and it can get a little noisy I find it easy to just tune the planes out and concentrate on taking my pictures and enjoying the beauty of the grounds. Mounts is a great place to take a picnic lunch with you and just enjoy everything. There is a pond which has a bridge to walk out to the little island to take it all in from. The fee to get in is only a $5.00 donation, but if you have a membership to any of the Botanical Gardens in the area or from your neighboring area they have a reciprocal agreement with most gardens and you get in for free with it.
The grounds display Florida fauna in a natural habitat. It's a chance for people to get soime great ideas for what to do at their own homes. Many people go to Mounts for engagement and wedding photos and there are banquet facilities. The folks to work and volunteer at Mounts are always happy to share advice and experience. Before landscaping your property, anyone should visit Mounts and talk to the folks; it's time very well spent.
We enjoyed the cleanliness and variety of the Gardens. Planes were some what of a distraction, but were fun to watch fly overhead. Would go again for sure.
We went on family day and it was a wonderful experience. They had many different exhibits and most appealed to children and adults alike, There was also face painting and the artists were very clever. The Garden itself is pleasant. On a non-family day, it is very relaxing to visit and sit among the gifts of nature.
Was definitely surprised when we were driving but it was a nice place to visit. Its small and you can do it quick or sit down and enjoy but definitely a pleasant stroll.
This place is a hidden treasure. There are thousands of plants and trees and the landscaping is done professionally. They had been almost wiped out by a hurricane several years ago and you would never know it. Everyone that is involved with Mounts has put in 100% effort to bring it back. We travel all over the world to stroll through gardens and this is in our top 10!
We were members until we moved. There are a lot of things going on like flower shows, fruit tastings, etc. Watch the calendar.Hubby and I used to go on Sunday for a stroll through the gardens and watch the butterflies. It's a nice place to visit to get away and just relax! We learned about different trees and plants. You can also buy from the nursery there at reasonable costs!
