Wow! Once you start walking in these world marvel you can't just stop and wonder that you are walking on history. It is nice to read about history and all, but it is a completely different experience when you walk around these magnificent structures. Highly recommend it and a must see in your lifetime!
This incredible Museum should be on the visiting list of every traveller to Athens.First of all, it houses the remaining Parthenon Marbles, the ones which were not looted by the ghastly Lord Elgin. And they are beautifully displayed, facing the Acropolis, in a large and airy room. The remaining artifacts housed here are also well placed, with sufficient space to walk around and observe the back, as well as the front. And leave time to go to the cafe on the roof, where you get one of the greatest sights in Europe.
Brilliant display- world class! The display and video were amazing and really brought the Acroplois to life
This new museum (opened in 2009) looks as interesting as it is. Build on top of an ancient settlement, which you can actually see through open areas and windows on the floors outside. Inside it offers you a lot of history about The Acropolis. All the statues and items are presented to you in a perfect setup. Almost sterile.. I miss a couple of exhibitions showing the daily life, with different scenes and happenings. Then it would have been perfect!
