Saw as part of half day tour, interesting history, pretty in pink. Not much more to say, best seen from bar/cafe in Casa viola directly opposite (almost hidden entrance to cultural centre up on left) and they do decent espresso too.
Beautifully kept, worth going to see but armed police and army are very intimidating. One of our party stepped on the lawn and she was whistled and pointed at to get off even there were no signs saying to keep off.
It was a Sunday so the President was off but we were able to tour around the palace built on the riverside.
...because there really isn't too much else you can do besides look at it and snap a photo, but at least it is in an area by a lot of other nice things to do. It is especially nice to see it from the view of the palace from a restaurant, nice options include Casi Clari or the Pirata Bar.
Not visitable or photographable. Surly armed soldiers outside and pickpockets and thieves everywhere. Don't go, day or night.
It was recently reopened to public because of major reconstructions, paintings and facilities updates. For example, the face over the Asuncion Bay considered its historic orientation. All the work demands millons of dollars and if you visited it before, a new visit is strongly recommended. Please check day and hours of public openings and enjoy sun, friendly locals, and nearby good food.
I have dear memories of this building for professional reasons. It has recently been refurbished and seen from the road it is quite impressive and elegant. It is listed here as an attraction but I guess tourists cannot get inside the guarded area, as this is where the Head of State has his office.
Great building with a view to the river. The building itself is great and imponent. The most beautiful attraction in the city.
You could pretty much see the Cathedral, Theather, Goverment Palace, Legislative building ,and Avenida Costanera in one day. Great architecture but I was a bit surprised it was pink in color because most photos I saw prior to my travel to Asuncion showed it as a white building. Just remember it is one of the highlights in the city of Asuncion and if you would like a city tour of Asuncion, contact Martin Travel website http://www.martintravel.com.py/ and email: incoming01@martintravel.com.py. Happy Travels!!!
i only saw the palace lit up in the evening and it is very pretty and photogenic both from the front and back sides, Definitely see it at night!
