it looks like hundreds of steps leading to the top of an incline. I did not fancy climbing up, but enjoyed the many sculptures leading the pedestrian zone towards the Cascade. Some sculptures made of wire into jumping Impala gazelles and horses, or one big fat lady lying on her stomach. Two hares cast in Bronze, jumping or dancing ? The several security guards making sure no one got too close or touched the works of art. Somewhat out of place was a huge bright blue Penguin, and some coloured kind of columns from the London Olympics site.
AN ecclectic collection of scultpures in a park with floors leading up to a the highest floow which overlooks Yerevan. The modern artwork and the layout which is over Cafestjian Museum is free and worth the visit. The area has many trendy restauarants along both sides ofthe park. definately worth seeing.
Take a stroll around the cascade. Take in all the sculptures and well maintained gardens visit the street cafes. And finally take a walk up to the top of the steps 555 in total and look down onto the city.
I go there when want to walk alone or with family. You may seat there somewhere and just look to the city. It is good place to be in spring and in autumn. It is cold in winter and hot in summer.
This is my favorite place in Yerevan. You can have a panoramic view of Yerevan from the Top. It connects upper and central part of Yerevan. Well designed, with different museums inside(btw. most of them are for free). and a lot of art pieces both inside and outsideSure you'll enjoy!
Cascade is a park and a gallery/concert hall right in the center of Yerevan. It has an open air gallery, a very beautiful one. The park is surrounded by cafes and other eataries, which do not interfer with art. Evenings see a lot of people stolling the alleys. From the top on a clear day you can catch a magnificent view of Ararat.
I really love this place . I saw full yerevan from height of Cascade . Very interesting place for couples and families
Nice place to hang around especially in the evenings as the lights come on. Go a little earlier to get a panoramic view in natural light of the city after you mount the steps.Modern architecture all over the place and in between the steps as you climb up. Huge works set up some more interesting and some leave you wondering ( but that's modern art I guess). Anyway a must see place in Erevan city- cant miss it even though its off the main street. Lovely for pictures and lawns for kids and families. I think there are some elevators to take you up if old or with kids - not sure if they were working or if there is a fee involved. But so much better to climb.
Great place to hang out. Enjoying the art. The people. The view over Yerevan from the top of the stairs.
Really like the Cascade area. Nice gardens and very interesting collection of Cafesjian statues and exhibits. Regularly visit with our children but just wish the security guards were more consumer friendly and not so bossy.
