This little garden is an amazing place to see hummingbirds at arm's length. There is a constant buzz of activity. 7 different hummingbird species are constantly vying for access to the feeders, and are pretty oblivious of the people. The most amazing is the Swallow-tailed Hummingbird. There are also bananas and seeds put out for doves, beautiful saffron-colored finches, and bright yellow tanagers. You can get a good education on the different birds, too, by asking questions of one of the family members present in the garden. This family has been feeding the birds for 30 years, and the small admission fee helps pay for the bird seed, fruit, and sugar water they put out every day (and refill as often as every 90 minutes when the hummingbirds are hungry). Well worth a visit.
Everything about Iguazu amazed me, its just such a special spot on earth. This little spot is no different, really nice. I'd advise anyone who is visiting Argentina/Brazil to get to Igauzu
If you like birding or want to enjoy a close encounter with birds this is a place to go. A nice activity for the whole family. Many free birds are always surrounding this garden mainly hummingbirds. It is wonderful to see them and enjoy life with them. The people encharged are always givin explanations of the names and particularities of each bird. They are feeding them for more than 30 years and that is the reason of the big number of them. If you have a couple of hours free after going to the falls, then this is good choice.
It is only a small garden but hummingbirds are used to coming here for food. You can get quite close to them as they fly in and feed. Just sit down and relax and enjoy the scene, also great for photos. The owners are friendly and happy to talk about the birds (in Spanish).
What a beautiful small garden with tons of amazing and beautiful hummingbirds!! The guy doesn't speak English but that's ok! You don't need it! Just marvel in the beauty of these amazing birds! 30 pesos, short walk from center of town and you spend like 15 min there, but you can spend more! So lovely! Go go go!
This is not really a "hummingbird garden" as many might expect. It is a lady's front yard in the middle of town. She has put out several feeders, and draws in hummingbirds. You need to identify them yourself. But...we saw the swallow-tailed hummingbird here! Beautiful. She hosts you for about 1 hour for the small admission fee.
This is A quirky little place, literally somebody's front yard, but the number of hummingbirds is amazing. Hummingbirds, and other types of birds, of all different varieties come into the garden and float around from feeder to feeder. The owner is so super friendly.
Small, but beautiful gardens with tons of hummingbirds. Took some great close up photos. Owner was very nice and informative.
This little garden is owned by a charming lady who loves her little hummingbirds. She is quite knowledgable and shares information. The bonus was that her little twin 4year old grand daughters were there and we enjoyed our conversation with them. They spoke spanish and we spoke english. So delightful.
This beautiful and small garden its such an especial place to spend as much as you can! So peaceful!!! The owner is really kind! Its a MUST in your visit to Iguazu
