Love all the shops and the friendly people they all make you feel welcomed and are interested in you.
Many of the shops on Sheridan Street seem to have been closed up for the season. One shop had soda's unique to Ely- we got a blueberry soda and some Minnesota buzz. We were able to visit Mealey's and found some wonderful unique gifts for my in-laws. If you are in the area, check them out, but if you want to make a trip, wait until summer when more of these shops will be open.
Wat a fun place to go and say HI to all your friends and family! Just don't block the street!! Good place for photo opps, too.
Love the 2 live cams on Sheridan - I watch them every day from 7 hrs. away - just to see what is happening!
Typical very small town experience tailored to the tourist, canoeist, fisherman and of course the shopper, Well worth a stroll down the two parallel streets to see if you meet someone you might know. Also send yourself back home on the local web cams accessed from the Ely website.
Great shops with great deals in the fall, off-peak season. A few places had closed up for the winter but we still found lots to keep our interest on a rainy fall day.
blij dat ik er geweest ben !Erg leuk motel en de mensen waren heel erg aardig !Lekker gegeten daar en leuke winkeltjes te zien !
Scenic historic shopping street worth a visit. Liked Steger mukluks, Ely Steakhouse, Chocolate Moose.
Sheridan street with all the gift shops, restaurants, bait shops, and bars is everything you want to see while walking up hill to the park and perhaps take in a ball game when the American Legion teams are playing. 4th of July parade is a hoot.
Great Main Street feel! Lots of shops carrying everything from t-shirts/sweatshirts to camping gear to rocks and everything in between. Parking can sometimes be a problem but usually you can find a spot or better yet, park and walk to truly enjoy the experience.
