We had no idea how far away this was...Took a ferry, then a taxi ride that were about 20 minutes each. The park reminded me a bit of the Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle. Well done, except some areas had tall plants/trees near the fence that obscured the view of the animals.
There are very few animals but the baby goats and sheep were adorable! The grounds are nice to walk about in and get out of the busy city. If you have nothing to do, this is not a bad place to go. I wouldn't go out of my way to visit though if I was in Izmir for a short period of time.
Very nice and natural life park. There are many wild animals and the park is really clean and tidy. The entrance price is reasonable and, worth visiting.
I was very impressed with the Izmir wildlife park (Doğal Yaşam Parkı). The park is very spacious, aesthetically constructed, and has lots of playgrounds for children. The park also has many observation places that offer really good views of the animals. I was particularly impressed with the views of the tigers, lions, and pumas. The animals themselves were very active while we were there, which made the visit very fun for both me and my kids.I think that for an inexpensive wildlife park, they have a great variety of animals. The park is also known for having Turkey's only rainforest exhibit and for having Turkey's only elephant family.Entrance fees: 3 TL for adults1 TL for studentsYoung children are freeAccessing the Park:From the Karşıyaka Iskele, cross the road, turn left, and walk to the nearest bus stop (I believe it is called Osmanbey Parkı). Wait for the 777 bus. Ride the bus until the end of the line, as the wildlife park is the last stop. It takes about 25 minutes.Website:http://www.izmirdogalyasamparki.org.tr/
It's easy to get there, I've used ferri and bus as suggested by other travelers. Cheap to enter. opportunity of seeing several wild animal and the environment is so clean...
It is a great park, decent size for this type of parks with loads of wild life and animal to observe and experience. I would definitely suggest especially for the families with kids
Compared to the 'zoo' that used to be based in Izmir this is a fantastic improvement. The animals have lots of space, there is a great variety of animals and they seem very comfortable and healthy. The eating facilities are not very good, a little bare and not a good selection of food. It is probably better to go during the summer than the winter. I really enjoyed the snake and reptile section which was indoors.
if you like wild life, if wanna spend time watching animal in free environment, this is the place. Super modern and big, this is the ultimate attraction for safari lovers. if you have a kid, you can never miss this out.ıt is 25 mins drive from izmir downtown.
Very easy to reach from Karsiyaka, using bus 777. Very cheap Entrance (3 TL and 1 for students) and the best Quality for money you can imagine! You get a free map with a great visiting plan, the zoo is very cleap and well kept, animals look healthy and all animals have sufficient ground space. If you're a fan of peacocks you'll be very pleased because they're literally everywhere xDA great variety of animals. Facilities (WCs and restaurants) are well placed and there's always somewhere with shadow to sit. They should really put a tipping box at the exist because you'll totally want to give them more money to continue the great job they're doing!!It'd be great if they get a bike rental, the zoo is pretty big and bikes will be a great way to get byAnyway, this is a MUST SEE destination in Izmir
Large space for animals, green area, fresh air. Animals seem happy. You can spend hours there without getting bored.
