Nice side trip if visiting in the OKC Yukon area. The barn is not typical for this part of the country and is interesting. However, the highlight is the Clydesdales. Magnificent horses.
We took our grandkids to see the horses. The barn is not large, but open to the public. You can walk around and look at a horse in just about every stall. Almost all of the horses were within reach of the stall front so the kids could pet them as the horse munched hay. We saw one of the horses get a bath. Several dogs and a couple of lounging about. Does not take long to look around but it seemed that we could stay as long as we wanted to stay. T-shirts are a tad pricey, though.
Can't think of anything I didn't like. It was wonderful to see the HUGE horses and also lots of fu. To see the little zoo out back.
If you are in the area of this place you need to stop in. The horses are so beautiful and they will let you get really close to these gentle giants. You will be glad you visited the Express Clydesdales facility. The restored barn is interesting in itself.
My 9 year old daughter loves for us to stop here and see the horses when we are in the area. Its very nice walking through the barn.
We had our daughters birthday party here yr or 2 ago! If your child loves horses, this is the best place ever to have their party!!! They get a chance to pet the gentle giants and even go for a carriage ride!! The employees are very informative and will answer all questions!! They provided a cake and supplies for a fee. Party was upstairs in loft, so a little hard to access for handicapped. Have a petting zoo outside. Small gift shop. Overall it was a really cool place to see!! My daughter loved it!!!!
This is an all around fun ranch to hang out at with kids of all ages, young, and young at heart. You are free to roam at your leisure, or pre plan an info tour. We even were able to park close enough in which to wheel a horse loving family member's wheel chair around. It is a free activity on the outskirts of Garth Brook's birthplace of Yukon Oklahoma, (the road leading out of town runs right into the stable's drive way parking lot,) and a fun activity to do with anyone near plenty of shopping and eateries back in Yukon's more modern areas, or even in the older heart of town off of Rt. 66. We enjoyed marveling at and interacting with the larger than life specialty draft horses who pull the Express Company's parade carriages in events far and wide; the surrounding objet d' artes such as a retro horse drawn carriage or two; the Zebra (who supposedly bites, but he welcomed our attention and back rub,)and other various farm animal life; the loft upstairs perfect for a party or wedding reception, as well as the friendly dog mascots who first greeted us at the door. Great semi-out door experience.
Great place to bring kids. It's a working ranch located just north of I-40 in Yukon, OK. The barn has been beautiful refinished and has a large open second story where weddings, receptions, parties, etc. can be held. The Clydesdales are beautiful and easily accessible. They also have miniature horses and a zebra! They are closed on Mondays.
The kids were fascinated by the size of the horses! The horses were calm (even when the girls would scream), sweet, and loved the attention! We even got to watch them shoe a clydesdale. The barn was clean and didn't smell. I would, however, love to see the gift shop add a few more items (glasses, horse/barn/farm toys, etc). We have friends in the area so this place will become a tradition to visit!!
