If your in the area I think this would be well worth the visit! Head up to Putnam hill park if your here during the day and view it from above.
My dad grew up in Zanesville and he always talked about the Y Bridge. Enjoyed seeing the unique bridge.
We were in the area so went to see the Y bridge. It's supposed to be the only one in the United States. It was interesting and we were glad we got to see it. I wouldn't go out of the way, but if you are in the area, it's worth seeing.
Would not travel a great distance to see but if in the area check it out. It is especially picturesque at night during a snowfall, but if it is the unusual structure it's self you want to see go there in the daytime and best in warm weather to get the most enjoyment.
From an engineering standpoint, the Y Bridge has historical significance. From a tourist standpoint, it can be interesting. It certainly looks unique as you approach it, and you'll probably want to drive both halves of the "Y". I couldn't find a spot on the bridge to photograph the split. We were told there was a good vantage point at the nearby park, but there were a few untrustworthy-looking fellows there, so my wife and I drove on.If you are in the general area, it's worth a view. However, I would not recommend making a major change in your travel route to see it.
The bridge is interesting as stated, but don't drive more than 10-15 min out of your way to see it. Be sure to stay in the proper lane when turning......good thing there was no oncoming traffic. Ha.
Had a fun trip over the Y bridge. Stopped at a pullout to the right for a closer look. I don't normally like bridges, but this one didn't make me nervous at all!
The best view (when there is no fog) is from a park high up on the rivers edge, called Putnam View Park, off Grandview Ave.
You can tell your friends to go halfway across the bridge and turn left :)this bridge is very unusual, possibly the only one of it's kind. Worth a trip to see.
My friends in Malta told us about this bridge and said it's the only one of its kind. Very cool and worth a short side trip to experience it!
