I've frequented Carnegies IT suite on a few occasions now to get assistance scanning docs and emailing them to prospective employers. The staff are knowledgeable and very helpful. A brilliant service!
Fantastic place for book worms, lots of great books. Choose from fiction, non-fiction, adult or childrens books. Please be quiet when you enter. If you would like to visit this library there is a car park very close by, and there are lots of nearby shops to cater for all your needs. Fantastic place for book worms, lots of great books. We took the kids in and they enjoyed finding some interesting books which were in good condition.
On each occasion we have visited the library, thus meeting many members of staff, the service and attention we received were second to non.
Love this lovely old building full of character and books. Staff are extremely helpful if you want to order books or DVD there is no charge for ordering books
The staff was helpful - it was our first stop for research. Ian from Stewarton (the attendant at the desk) was full-on into helping us. He found an 1800's newspaper ad - back to when our descendents left Scotland for the U.S. - that helped explain why they may have wanted to leave. The library building inside was quite beautiful. I have great photos of wonderful stained glass to illustrate the Carnegie influence but TripAdvisor doesn't allow for uploading photos of this type of property :-(
An excellent source of local information with friendly and helpful staff - computer access to let you access the web for further information, and a great selection of books to choose from. This is a great place to spend a few hours, even if it isn't raining outside.
I use this library regularly. It is a good local library with helpful staff and is a peaceful place to work.
We used the computers at Ayr library to check emails etc and pay some on line bills. You can access 2 hours on the computers daily free of charge. We also used the local history reference section to research the area to plan our 'what to see' activities (sadly we found in Scotland that the Tourist info centers seem to be more of an advertising enterprise rather than providing good info like they used to). Staff where very helpful and the building itself is beautiful.
The wonderful staff at the Carnegie Library assisted me in my family history research before and during my visit to Ayr. Everyone was so accommodating and helpful. Thank you so much!
We stopped here to do family research. The have excellent records on the area. The staff was very helpful locating family records that we were searching for. They also provided additional places that we should visit that would have even more information.
