I have been playing this course for just the last couple of years, but have always found it to be in great shape. The staff is very friendly and accommodating and the place just exudes history. Not a long course, but interesting and challenging. Well worth your time. Just remember the local course adage, particularly on the first tee: "everything goes towards the train tracks" - you'll see!
Played here last week (or tried to). Excellent course since redesign - I used to play here growing up all the time. Went back to get in a quick round, closing in on sunset. When I got back to the clubhouse about 5 though, closed up tight (no bathroom, refreshments, etc.). I'd also suggest some better signage on the course and/or cards to direct those unfamiliar with the route.
I would go back and play again, nice public course. Lots of history with this course and some interesting holes. Was in good shape when we played. Greens are difficult but maybe if you played there often it might help with the reading of them. Nice people in the Club House/Pro Shop.
Very nice Golf course on of many in Aiken South Carolina, resonably priced including golf buggy. Staff are friendly and helpfull. This course is part of 2 under the same management, the other is Ceder Creek.
This golf course is one of the best in Aiken and indeed one of the best in South Carolina. Since the owner took over and redesigned the greens and changed the name from Highland Park, the overall playability of the course had improved immensely. Most definitely worth the fees. Just be careful of the "humpback" greens.
Conveniently located just two blocks from downtown Aiken, this public course is affordable and beautifully maintained.
Best public course anywhere! Great course, views and the price is unbelievable. One of Aiken's best held secrets. After you've played there you wonder why pay the exorbitant prices other courses charge.
What a gem!! Just came from Asheville but enjoyed this course more. Not rushed, but challenged. Lovely, quiet, and the greens!! Great value for $$. Friendly staff!!
this course is over a hundred years old and is maintained in pristine condition great layout with undulating greens. staff at the club which is located in downtown aiken are super to work with.Aiken is a historic city and has a cool downtown
As a person who travels all around the US and takes avantage of any newly discovered golf courses. Aiken GC rises to the top with beautiful well gromed fairways and surprisingly fast challenging greens. Though a fairly short couse for these days the layout and contours will challenge the best of any golfers more that making up for its length. Thats why its seems several PGA players are known to grown up playing this course sharpening their skills.
