great views, breathe taking. fee applies but deserves it. worth the walk up the hill. the gardens include exotic different kinds of cactus with brief of each (origin, name, type, etc...)
Keep on climbing through the village until you reach this wonder of the world. Started in 1949 , the town did not have any piped water until this time when a pump was installed. A cost of 4e each is a bargain , the paths twist through and between cactus , ruins , succulents and views over the town , over the sea and over the hills above this hill town. The statues seem to be based on the female form , the few sign posts add to the experience. Give yourself plenty of time and chill out in the meditative area with only the sound of running water to moistion your thoughts.A final thought , when we go again we will take a small picnic with us , a glass of wine is one of the few things that could have improved our experience here at the top of Eze.
Well worth the 4 euro entrance fee. Some really interesting plants, wonderful cacti. Plenty of uneven and narrow steps but there are excellent views from the summit.
Great value place to relax, when there are no crowds. We went in Feb, the weather was lovely, quite hot in the sun, but it might get quite busy in summer. You could walk round it easily in an hour, but better to spend a couple of hours enjoying the views and plants and relaxing on a lounger in the water garden.
This place is a must visit, if not for the beautiful exotic plants, but for the most incredible breathtaking view in Eze! We had some difficulty locating it amidst the many winding narrow paths throughout Eze old town, but we finally found it after asking for directions from the very friendly and helpful staff in the posh looking chateau hotels.
There is a little bit of climbing stairs, but the view is so worth it. Gorgeous flowers and stAtues at the very top of this amazing village.
The garden is unusual for this area. It is full of succulents and cacti. If you pay to go to the castle location on top, you will see this beautiful garden. Sort of a bonus to your visit to Eze.
Even in the off season, there is a lot to see here. The climbs are worth the sites! Go all the way to the top to get the full experience.
For the best views in Èze (pronouced Ez), you have two choices;1) Have an expensive drink on the terrace of Hotel Èze (espresso coffee €7) or 2) Pay €4 to enter the botanical gardens. The garden itself is ok, probably fantastic if you happen to have a cactus fetish. The contemplation terrace is always full of people. However the views from the former castle up top are EPIC! On a clear day you can see all the way down the French Riviera to St. Tropez (100+ km / 60+ miles) to the west.
