You cannot get any better view of the islands and the sea but I cannot say the same about the restaurants which are poorly managed.
Very nice and quite place. The see view was perfect and magnificant. I reccoment it to every tourist who visits ayvalık.
Yes, incredible panoramic views over rthe lovely peninsulas of Ayvalik of Lesvos island, Edremit golf, the shore and Ida mountain at the northern backround.
The view is excellent. Parking is a minor problem, because if you get closer to the restaurants then parking is 5 TL. Otherwise, you can have a coffee or so and enjoy the spectacular view.
Ask for a beer, sit and watch the great view and sunset. Its amazing... You need a car to reach up. If U have time its worth to visit. There is a restaurant up there and the prices are reasonable. I did not care about the quality of the service since my wish was just to see the view. Hope U like it too.
8 km away to Ayvalik and easy to go by car.your can enjoy the sunset view with a great scene. Take care about traffic jam
Our family is familiar to walking so we decided not to go by bus but on foot. If you start this tour from the center of Sarimsakli, it is 5km long, but there is shortcut from the Hotel Çinar and it is much closer. All the way you smell the pine trees, and the view is perfect from the point you start going uphill. Don`t miss to try the honey from the local salesmen by the road. And, at last, when you come at the top of the hill, there is wonderfull view of the archipelago, Ayvalik, Cunda, Lesbos, Sarimsakli... It is nice place to drink çay (Turkish tea) or coffee or to eat, but it is more expensive than Ayvalik or Sarimsakli. If you go at the evening, you can see the sunset, so don`t go if the weather is cloudy. We prefer morning, because it is not crowded. It is a must to make a wish, throw a coin at the "Devil`s footprint" and tie the handkercief.Maybe you`ll come again next year then...
The rumors say that the devil appeared there and made a foot print on the rocks. There is nothing to see there, only a little hollow. But the view. It is exra ordinary. You can watch Ayvalik and Cunda and all other small islands of Edremit Gulf and the big island of Mitilini stay just a few strokes away.
You should go there at dawn. You can take a cab or minibus to there from the center. If you're in Ayvalik and want to see more; try Cunda Island.
The sea and islands view was nice and the beer was cold. You can enjoy these. However, there is nothing to see about devil:) The lava stone that they call devil's footstep was surrounded with a lot of litter. The restrooms were also dirty. Would I recommend? Well, may be...
