This is the second time we have been here and thought we would give it another try. I can now say I will never eat there again. The first time we went the food was disappointing. Pasta with a too watery sauce. Patty melt overcooked and dry. Husbands sausage was decent. Second time just as bad. Fish and chips totally tasteless. Crab cakes greasy and overly fishy. Highlight was the appetizer spinach and artichoke dip. If this restaurant could pair a halfway decent meal it would be great as the atmosphere and beer are pretty good.
Live music and local artists displayed on the walls. We sat out front because it was so packed that night, but still got quick and attentive service. Pub type food was very tasty. Great evening.
Don't go here with kids especially...super slow service. This is a place to have a beer with a friend nothing more, nothing special as for food. Can not mix a drink....beer only
Good choice of beers (wish they had dry cider) Food is acceptable - a little pompous for my taste (I'm a meat and 2 veg.) Prices are reasonable - try to make it for happy hour 4 -6pm. Service is youthful. It is a place to meet people. Can be a little noisy. Non stop sport on TV which is a turn off for me.
The beer was super tasty, the spinach artichoke dip was great. The chicken cordon blue was average but the bread pudding was amazing. Chris was awesome. We will definitely be back
Spent the night in Alamosa while driving from Mesa Verde N.P. to Sand Dundes N.P. Had dinner at San Luis Brewery. It was fun. The building was formerly a bank and it had a lot of character. Staff was young and entertaining, burgers and fries very good, and thier Alamosa Amber beer was delicious.Had low expectations in Alamosa and this was an unexpexted pleasant stop.
Good selection of beer, nicely presented menu and a good choice. Attentive server staff. Look twice to find it on the main road.
The SLV Brewing Company is a great place to be! The food is good, the brews outstanding and the company is great. The only thing that can be hard is the acoustics in the place, not really a good place to have a heart to heart chat or for people that do not like a noisy atmosphere. That being said, there is usually some fine music to be had and it is a favorite place for locals to meet.My favorite beer is the oatmeal stout which is brewed with nitrogen and is hearty and smooth. There are also craft brews, not always available. I really liked the kiwi beer, light and fruity but the green chili beer was not my favorite. I love their philly swiss portabella, mushroom sandwich. The pub is housed in a historic building which has great ambiance. A fun place to hang out.
I stopped by SLVBC in early September 2013 and had a beer. I had their chilli pepper beer which had a great strong initial taste, but wore off quickly. The place was hopping and was a nice Colorado brewery type atmosphere. Something I liked about SLVBC was that I could buy beer to go. You can grab bombers, or 6-packs (including mix packs to try them all). Overall, the beer is good enough, and the atmosphere is a lot of fun. Being on Main St. is perfect too.
Cute building, great beer "sampler," and excellent service. The fish was bland but the potatoes good.
