I visit this park quite often, they have a good playground, and good running paths. Also, if you mountain bike, they have probably the best (quite extensive) trails in Arlington - I highly recommend them.
Really great place to come for the day. Relaxing trails, nice playgrounds, and many pavilions for gatherings. There are security cameras everywhere so that early morning run feels a bit more secure. This park has something for everyone! I would check it out if your in the area.
An oasis for everyone: jog gets to school children. Interesting exhibits, acres of park land, and green everywhere.
This park has something for EVERYone. There are playgrounds, hiking and biking trails, pavilions and even a Nature Center. It's a beautiful place that cannot be truly appreciated in a one day visit.
I walk here often and it works. Traveling a lot I get to experience many beautiful parks and for our immediate area this is the one. People walk, ride bikes and can bring their dogs, too which is nice. The park also house an educational science center. It is conveniently located for most.
This is a huge park with beautiful trails and playgrounds, ducks, and a pavilion. Probably more than one pavilion, but went there for a walk to benefit an organization so I stayed with the walkers. I was impressed with lots of trails and plenty of parking, plus where we were was well designed for a large meeting. It seemed to be well laid out and could have been several hours of fun and walking/running/biking in the sun.Truly a park to visit if you enjoy to enjoy the out of doors without being constantly surrounded by people. While there were trees, it seemed like the trails were designed well to be pretty safe if by oneself.
I lived in Arlington for several years, and used to visit this park several times a week. It is fairly large, and has two main entrances: the southern (and main) entrance is near Green Oaks Blvd & Cooper St, and the eastern entrance is off of N Collins St (north of NE Green Oaks Blvd). The park contains playgrounds, large fields, BBQ pits, and a number of paved and unpaved trails that can be used for walking, running, or cycling. The main paved trail leads through the wooded areas alongside the Trinity River, and is a total of 14.0 miles in length. The park itself is very well maintained, and is always clean and well-taken care of. It is great for walking dogs (which must be on a leash at all times!) or simply enjoying nature. When the weather is nice, the park gets very packed, especially on the weekends. The best time to go is thus on weekday mornings, when only a select few people are around. This park is a true gem in an otherwise never-ending sea of strip-malls and apartment complexes that we call Arlington.
This is one of the nicest parks we have been too. It has beautiful greenery and lots of areas to spread out. It has several nature trails and a center to learn about animals and wildlife. Lots of variety here. There are several nice playgrounds here too.
Wow! What an amazing park. The facilities were clean and the park well kept. There were plenty of trails and we really loved the trails that ran down by the Trinity River.
Away from all the other teaming attractions that Arlington is known for, River Legacy Park really stands above the rest. The park is Texas beautiful and offers so many activities to choose from - walk, run, bike, picnic, play, explore, relax, and enjoy! Parking is plentiful and the city has done a masterful job maintaining this peaceful escape along the Trinity River.
