Found this tower interesting as I have visited other towers over the years. Probably one of the best examples, but only three floors and the roof and placed in the middle of a thousand house housing estate means the atmosphere and location means it looses some of its mystique. Staff very helpful. I cannot comment on cost as I am a member of the National Trust. Lovely views and what is there is interesting. Be warned about the stairs.
Thank you so much for a terrific review. I hope you can visit us again in the future.
i have been meaning to visit here for ages, finally got there, was worth it as well.some nice views from the top.staff helpful and friendly.if you are in alloa visit the tower, you will like it.
My friends got married here, beautiful setting for a wedding! Well worth a visit anyway. It was much warmer in the tower than I imagined it'd be.
Unless you are fit enough to cope with a tight, spiral staircase, I wouldn't recommend visiting as you are very limited indeed. Centuries ago the garden grounds would have been impressive --- unfortunately not today. Quite an interesting short film affording an insight into the importance of the family and its connection to Scottish royalty.
Many thanks for writing an excellent review regarding your visit to Alloa Tower. I have passed on your kind comments to the rest of the team and hope you can re visit us again in the future.
Thank you ever so much for a terrific review. I have passed on your lovely comments to the rest of the team..Once again Thank you
Thank you for your nice review regarding your visit. Alloa tower is one of the largest fortified tower house's in Scotland. It is NTS policy not to allow photography for conservation / security purposes. We hope you enjoyed visiting the tower and hope you can visit us again in the future.
A visit to the Alloa Tower is just to jump to the past. The tower is very nice, well kept.Very nice views from the top but not easy access to all the floors.
I am sorry to hear that you were a bit disappointed with your visit to Allloa Tower. Its NTS policy not to allow photography in our properties for conservation / security reasons. Iam unable to comment why other visitors were taking photographs on the day you visited and can assure you this not a normal occurrence. Alloa tower is 700 years old so the nature of accessing the upper floors can be challenging , however this doesn't hamper most of our visitors being able to access the rest of the property.
