If it is possible, book the rides and spa in advance not on the spot. We arrived to the place and when we were about to purchase the package, the administrative lady told us that the package is 3000 peso and it's a minimum of 3 pax. There was only 2 of us but we have to pay for 3 pax which is very unreasonable. We do not have much choices so we asked our driver to join us instead. Lucky for them that they are the only resort there, or else i think it will close down. The 4X4 ride which took bout 20mins was interesting looking at stones and flowing streams. The view at the hot spring which was quite inside was very serene.
The base camp is very near clark airbase. The view going to the hot spring is breathtaking. The 4x4 experience is awesome. Some drivers allowed people to go down from the 4x4 on the road and take pictures. A heaven for photo enthusiast. The hot spring is nice. The sand spa is a good experience. The free lunch is okay. They also give discounts to the locals =)
Luckily that we are 3 guys when you went there cause the backage was for minimum of 3 pax. It was a good exprince to see and explore the hot spring. It was fun to ride the 4X4 and drive throw the stones and the flowing water. The viwe was good we enjoy it. Also, the spa was great experience.
Visited the place in late October 2013, just before Yolanda/Haiyan. We were very lucky as the weather was gorgeous the day of our visit. Would not attempt it if there was a slight chance of any bad weather. The roads getting there once you enter the Puning area are narrow and quite treacherous. Low sedans not advisable...better to arrive via a guided tour or pickup from city proper. We arrived early which was a good thing as we got a lot of attention and no lines. Locals (the aetas) were very attentive. 4x4 ride was my favorite part of the trip...what an adventure...even for my 80-year old mother! The mud spa was "hot", literally speaking. The hot springs was our last station before a buffet lunch, which was a good way to rinse off the mud and relax in the naturally hot water. You can also buy beer and soda while at the hot springs, and eat any snacks you may have brought with you. Last stop was the buffet lunch. Softdrinks and beer are extra but food was decent and had good variety. After lunch, the aetas entertained us with some traditional dancing. Of course, they expected some tips for their effort but it was all goodhearted fun. Especially when their finale was dancing to Psy's Gentleman...too cute! Glad we did it and recommend for those who want a little bit of rugged adventure!
It is a nice and relaxing place to go to. And the 4 wheel drive to the hot springs is even more fun. One of the most fun and beautyful things to do in this area !!
We visited Puning as a family group & had lots of fun. We paid www.amegatravelandtours.com approx 3300pesos pp for "the lot"..house pick up & return, hot springs, spa & meal each. We left at 10am & were home by 4pm...30mins from Angeles by bus to the lovely restaurant & scenic eating area, which also has a native village with locals in traditional dress attached as an added attraction...then about 30mins in mostly open 4x4 wheel drive truck vehicles.... through winding lahar hills & valleys (great photo opportunity) & over running streams to our hilltop hot spring pools. There is a shrine with steep steps for those who wish an amazing view or some quiet time...do it before you get wet. Swimming clothes & towels are supplied. Then back in the 4x4s, change into spa clothes & towels (supplied) & into the hot sand pits & green clay face masks. Massage therapist walks on the sand & your supported limbs to make it even more relaxing. Spa lasts 20-30minutes. Just relax....it's hot, but it's good...we all felt great & slept well that evening. Brush down & cold showers afterward & then back in the 4x4s to the restaurant for a buffet meal. Band member from the Black Eyed Peas house foto opportunity, & great local food & shopping opportunities on the way home. You will need water,a hat, or scarf for the open vehicles & a camera.....good fun day in close proximity to Angeles...we would all go again...
spectacular views, towering lahar canyons, hot and cool mountain springs, hot waterfall and thrilling 4-wheel drive!an experience you can't afford to miss
Visited the punning hot spring with 3 others, what a great experience. There are two different packages available, the one we chose was the cheaper one at 2400 peso per person (min of 3 required) and included the 4x4 trip, towel, shorts & t-shirt (to swim in) and lunch. There are about 6 different pools to swim in, the pools down the bottom are cooler in temperature (baby bath temp) then the ones higher up. Lunch was very nice with plenty of variety - about 7 different dishes for the 4 of us to share. It was a great day out and I would highly recommend a visit.
