We didn't know what to expect from this museum, but it was a rainy day so we went for this indoor option. (Although there are a few cool exhibits if trains outside too.)Inside, you can see everything from an extensive car collection to a room with fun science experiments for kids. There is even a room full of Ataturk memorabilia, complete with pajamas! It was fun for us adults and our 10-year-old.
A beautiful museum with good collection located right next to Divan Cukurhan hotel. They have a restaurant in the museum and everything they serve is delicious.
The museum is interesting, because it includes collections of personal items of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of Modern Turkish Democracy. The ticket price is very cheap. The Brasserie is outstanding.
It is an interesting very small museum which has many interesting items on exhibit but it is very poorly curated.
I liked it a lot especially old vintage items and Mr. Vehbi KOC's life journey. I will remeber his first shop for many years. Thanks to all contributed..
If you are in Ankara and around the castle area you may give an hour stop here. Museum is not that interesting with its belongings but the building is nice. There is a good restaurant inside. Portions are small but prices are not. Next to it, there is beautiful hotel. Hotel is much cheaper compared to the restaurant. And the rooms are magnificent.
It is a special place, there is a museum and a very nice, elite restaurant. Near by the Castle. Anything they serve there is tasty,
This is a very nice restoration of a historic building. If you enjoy old buildings and want to have a sense of how Ankara was decades ago both this building and the area it is in old Ankara is worth a visit. The staff were great and the restaurant inside looked good - but we did not eat there. The restoration is done exceptionally well and the use of many small rooms to show different artefacts collected over the years from several decades is a nice idea. I was very excited when I entered the first room with the miniature trains but the lack of detailed info about their history was disappointing. This continued in several other rooms. It would have helped a lot if they put some details of individual pieces. The collection is vast, and you want to have a bit more info about the items exhibited. But overall it provides a nostalgic tour of past decades and worth a visit.
I was shocked by this museum. It is quite cheap and it is sooo beautiful. I am really happy that I've selected this point of interest. It is really worth it. One of the best attraction I've ever seen. Also the environmental area is full of small shops, coffee shops, all craftsmen are there. 10/10. Definately MUST see
The collection of this museum is worth to see and also museum building itself reflects the old Ankara athmosphere.
