  Обязательно посетите собор Св. Катарины днем, когда его огромные и удивительно красивые витражи предстают перед вами в полной красе и сиянии. Замысловатые гаргульи обрамляют фасад собора. Собор начал строиться в 1225 году и в настоящее время возвышается над Рейном в небольшом городке Оппенхайм.

  Esta bonita catedral gótica é bastante ampla e possui bonitos vitrais. Fiz a visita a partir da cidade de Frankfurt. Achei o trajeto de trem bem interessante, margeando o rio e passando pela bonita cidade de Mainz.

  Besonders die gut erhaltenen Fenster (Oppenheimer Blau) aus dem Mittelalter.Leider war die Kirche während des des geplanten Besuches (tagsüber) geschlossen. Nur durch einen Tipp und Unterstützung eines "Einheimischen" gelagten wir in das Innere.

  Für so ein Städtchen wie Oppenheim ist die Katharinenkirche ein ungewöhnlich großes Bauwerk. Man erkennt daran, dass Oppenheim vor 800 Jahren eine wesentlich größere Rolle gespielt hat als heute. Besonders hervorzuheben sind auch die schönen Fenster. Im Gebeinhaus liegen die Knochen von etwas 20000 Menschen.

  Die Kirche und die Fenster sind wunderschön. Schöne bunte Gläser und eine wunderbare Architektur mit verschiedenen Baustilen machen die Kirche zu etwas Besonderem. Dahinter ist ein Gebeine-Haus, das auch sehr interessant ist. Der Besuch war auf jeden Fall lohnenswert. Die Bänke vor der Kirche laden bei schönem Wetter zum Verweilen ein.

  Sehr schöne Kirche am Hang, oberhalb der Stadt. Hier hat schon Albert Schweitzer die Orgel gespielt. Anschliebend in den Ort und eine Untergrundführung machen.

  A daytime stop to visit the St. Katarinen Church in Oppenheim will certainly prove to be time well spent. Built in the early part of the 13th century, it is one of a very few basilicas to avoid catastrophic damage during the allied bombing campaigns of WWII. Behind the church in a tiny alcove where you will find the "beinhaus" (bone house) where local builders neatly stacked the remains removed from gravesites in a cemetery which was "relocated" to allow for church expansion. How quintessential German! I recommend you take time to stroll up into the vineyards behind the church to visit the ruins which overlook the church, Oppenheim stadt, and the Rhine River valley. If you stand there quietly andclose your eyes, you may even hear faint echoes of the voice of George Patton barking orders as his forces made their crucial river crossing at Oppenheim nearly 70 years ago. Historians may talk about Remagen, but tacticians talk about Oppenheim.

  とにかくステンドグラスが素晴らしいの一言に尽きます。教会自体も広角でないと撮りきれないほど大きくて、電車からもよく見えます。周囲にはぶどう畑や城の廃墟もあり、観光客がほとんど来ないのでゆっくり散策できます。
