I expected this to be a lot of trucks and not as good as the Cord Duesenberg Museum out front. Wow, was I wrong. This building retains all of its character from the factory. It's at least twice as big as the Cord Duesenberg Museum. There are lots of cars, trucks and motorcycles. Lots of gas pumps and other garage, service station and dealership items.
One of the more unique museums you will visit. First, it is an eclectic collection of everything from Matchbox cars and gas pumps to a wide variety of cars. You do have to be able to process a Model T next to a GTO next to the General Lee next to a school bus. If you don't mind that, this is the place to be.The most interesting aspect is that it is in the old ACD manufacturing facility. It is very easy to imagine classic cars rolling out of there. For that reason alone, this is a great museum to visit!
We have never seen so many model cars in one place. There are a lot of newer model cares than are in the Dusenburg museum. Very enjoyable@
This museum is behind the Auburn Cord Duesenberg museum. There are more than 200 vehicles on display. They also have many toy cars and trucks and pedal cars. Plan on spending at least a couple hours here. it's the most trucks of varying types that I have ever seen.
Easily overlooked, this collection is definitely worth one's time while also visiting the ACD collection. Many of the cars are drivers rather than prize-winning showpieces, but they still display important aspects of automotive history, as does the extensive collection of auto miniatures. With NATMUS open only until five, we took a late-afternoon break to visit here, then returned to ACD and stayed until closing.
It was really cool seeing all the cars and trucks there to see what and how they look and were built back then. Definately a stop you have to make when in Auburn Indiana.
This is a must see place for anyone who likes automotive history. I really liked the Auburn, Cords and Duesenburgs.
A collection of vintage and not so vintage tricks. Some restores, some original, a few farm fresh. Include this with a visit to the Cord, Auburn Duesenberg museum which is on the same site.
It was fun to visit the ACD Museum in front of the the NATMUS Museum, but this one is more the average persons car. Very fun!
Right next door to Auburn Cord Museum and opens first, so go and enjoy. Loved the displays on model cars and trucks of all sizes. Larger displays brought back memories of cars we have driven in as youngsters.
