God here for special ocassions and to meet friends for a great meal, great service and pleasant atmosphere
the staff here are the same ones that you will see next week and next year. You will love them. The food is above average and a good value.
My son took me to Orchard Valley Golf Course for Father's Day and we had a tremendous time. Absolutely every staff person we encountered was friendly, knowledgable, and made sure we were happy. the course was extremely well manicured and the layout was better than virtually any other public course I have played. I have played on several private courses that were not as nice. The price was extremely reasonable and the food in the restaurant was outstanding! I will return here to play whenever I am in the area!
Poorly maintained. Orchard Valley once bragged to be one of the top 5 golf public golf courses in the Chicago area. Today the course bears no resemblance to this former claim. Either the pond dries up from draining for irrigation or the sand (mud) traps don't drain and become small ponds. Sand quality is poor. The course design is great but even local golf tournaments are played at courses like Fox Valley Country Club instead of the once high caliber Orchard Valley.
Was not very impressed. The restraunt was nice, but the food was not what you would expect, and it was that good. Will not be going back.
We love coming here for golf and dinner (and sometimes just for dinner!) because it's close to home with great prices for a nice meal. The weekend specials on Prime Rib and seafood are great for the western suburbs. The outdoor patio overlooks the putting green and is a great spot in the warmer months. Friendly staff (many have been there as long as we have been going, at least 5 years), and they always greet us by name and with our drink preferences. Chef is also great about special requests. They can also easily accommodate larger groups (we always try to call ahead so they can prepare). Definitely try it out!
The staffs are very friendly!!!! Thanks so much for making our golf outing so successful!! You made everything in order and smooth.. Everyone enjoyed!!!Thanks,Judith
I played this course three times this year and was very pleased each time. The course is often rated one of the top ten public courses in Illinois, and it deserves that praise. It is run by the Fox Valley Park District, however the course is in very good shape. The staff is incredibly polite, friendly, and helpful. One round was on a surprisingly warm October afternoon, so everybody was out. The staff apologized to us for the 7 minute delay in our start time and the fact that the course was playing slow. There are limits to how much they can do about pace of play, but it was nice of them to give us a realistic estimate of when we would finish. The range is grass and was in good shape each time.
If you can make it thru the first few water holes that are challenging, then you should be alright. Excellent course, beautifully maintained. And, end your golfing with a stop in the excellent Orchards Restaurant and bar, where the food (including GREAT burgers), ambiance, and service are most enjoyable, especially drinking and eating on the patio on a nice evening.
Orchard Valley golf course is architecturally a terrific course. Ever since the Billy Casper group took over the conditions of this course have suffered. The 2014 winter has put this course into cow pasture condition. Virtually all greens are effected including practice green and are not seriously puttable. Fairways are effected too and are in poor conditon. Not to say that they don't have drinking water on the course, and you can't wash your hands in the washrooms (no water) on the course. One person was attending the pro shop otherwise no one else at course (ranger, starter, snack person). This was on a beautiful Sunday afternoon! Casper Management has absolutely ruined this course!
