On July 27, 2014, we had our wedding reception at the Copper Dock Winery and we are happy to say that it was a most enjoyable occasion. The owners greeted us personally and ensured that we had desired seating. The service was excellent as well as the food. Like others, we were concerned based upon earlier reviews but it appears that conditions are much improved.
After a friend's recommendation, we decided to try the Copper Dock for our 21st. SO glad we did!! The service was wonderful and the view on a cool summer evening was amazing. The swans swimming right up to our table, overlooking the pond was just magical. One eating out of my hand was beyond cool. They had my favorite German Reisling, which made the night perfection. For no frills food and a peaceful setting, the Copper Dock in the place to go!
Attended a rehearsal and then a wedding here. Owners are rude and crabby. Scenery was pretty. Food was good for a buffet reception. Customer service just horrible. There was an older lady with a cart at 830pm clearing off not only the dirty dishes from the tables but also removing ALL the table decorations. Band was TOLD to announce last call at 1015. They broke down the bar and EVEN started charging for SODA after 1030. The owner complained to wedding GUESTS that she was TIRED!!!!! I have no idea how they stay in business. Wineries are a dime a dozen anymore. I say spend your hard earned cash somewhere that APPRECIATES their customers. I doubt I will ever be back here again. And yep.... This review has been posted all over mr Facebook in hopes others will know what they are getting themselves into before coming here.
Definitely a bit of a drive to get here. We walked in and there was nobody at the bar to greet or help us so we walked around to the back to see if anyone was even there. (it was the afternoon on a weekday). A lady greeted us at their back bar and we did a few tastings before buying a bottle. They could have more selections for not producing any of their own wine. Their food menu was extremely limited as she explained the weekend drained them and they were waiting on a food truck arrival. What food we could order was very tasty, though. The swans were entertaining to watch while we sipped our wine on the dock. Would like to return on a weekend to see if things are different, but this place has a lot of potential.
Was leery after reading a lot of reviews but we had a wonderful experience. Got there shortly after they opened and started in the tasting room. They are a wine bar not a winery as they do not make their own wine. The woman working escorted us out to the patio areas after our tasting and told us a little about each level. Chose our table had a wonderful waitress who worked her tale off as they were very busy. Kept checking on us to see if everything was alright or we needed anything else. After our meal we moved to the upper covered patio out of the sun to watch the band and the waiter there was very attentive as well. I did overhear that they were in the process of training a lot of new help as busy season is just getting underway. We would definitely go back. As for the food it was your typical burgers, sandwiches, salads and appetizers. Not bad just typical. We had a pitcher of the white Sangria had a citrus flavor and was very refreshing. It cost $20 and the z3 of us had 3 glasses each.
First visit and not impressed at all. Very beautiful place. Lack of knowledge of wine and poor service from staff. No House made wines, no sweet red wine that was not carbonated. Overpriced for the service that is recieved.
only visited winery twice, once for a rehersal second for the wedding. The owner (old lady) was completely rude. drinks were nothing speical, food was alright. Old lady was walking around with a cart taking dishes from tables during the best man/maid of honor speeches. Bathrooms were nasty and the room for the bride was extremely hot. As much money as the bride paid to have her wedding here she was very disappointed when it came to certain things.i will never return here or recommend this place to anyone until it is ran by new owners.
visited Copper Dock on Saturday evening for a graduation celebration with 18 people. Despite the beautiful setting and scenery, the service and attitude of the employees was horrible. There was a great band for entertainment but there were some empty tables, so they were not overwhelmed. We asked for menus and were told a server would be with us shortly. After a 30 minute wait, some of our party went to the bar for self-serve drinks. A server finally came to take our food order. An hour and half later, my husband and I got our burgers which were not even hot. During the course of the evening, we were told several times they were short-staffed and very busy (NOT) due to the popularity of the band and it being Mother's Day weekend. They should not offer table service if they cannot provide and go to self-serve only.Recommend only for the atmosphere.
Went here for a wedding. The location and scenery were pretty. The service of the staff is questionable. Also during the reception there was an employee, that was pushing a cart around clearing drinks away. At first my thoughts we're how tacky, that is going to be in the background of some photos, then I witnessed her taking full drinks that someone had just sat down for a moment. Also witnessed a guest who's food plate was taken away, and they didn't get to eat, because they stepped away to use the restroom. Also, they actually tried preventing people from returning into the reception room to gather their belongings after sending the Bride and Groom off. Why did they do this? Because they close at 11pm, so they actually locked the doors. I will never waste my money at this winery.
I have been to Copper Dock several times and every time the service has been awful INCLUDING the owner. I have never seen an owner with such a sour disposition. The setting for this winery is awesome! Sitting at a table and enjoying the swans on the lake is so relaxing but you need to be very patient because you will have a long wait for food. We have been here 4 times and every time the wait has been long and twice are orders have been wrong. We attended a party for someone one day and it was so hot inside several of us just gave in and left as it wasn't comfortable at all. I have never been able to have a wine tasting because the tasting room is never open. The owner told me one time they were too tired from the night before to open the wine room, help didn't show up, etc. I go out for the day or evening to enjoy myself, why would this proprietor think I want to hear about her problems. Greet your customers with a smile and a no problem attitude or get out of the business altogether.
